In step B2, do I need to install all the other WADs BEFORE the system menu WAD, or does it make no difference?
It makes no difference... Just make sure to install all the wads at one time. In other words dont install half of them then restart your wii and install the rest.

I just installed all the WADs through IOS36 because it froze on 249 and 60. Then when I restarted and started up NAND clean, it wouldn't boot up. Just got a black screen and nothing else. To make sure I could actually start other stuff up, I can boot everything but NAND clean. Any suggestions?[/QUOTE]
same problem here, installs all the wads and system menu, goining into nand clean just brings a black screen and turns the wiimote off
Ok.... If you didn't install priloader, cIOSCORP or anything else intrusive like that then runnind NAND clean is uneccessary... In most cases it doesn't really remove anything anyway because most people just softmod a few ios's... if you did install priloader or cIOSCORP let me know and I will do some expierimenting to try and fix this problem

got around it, flashed the nand with a backup done after recovering from a brick, then proceeded to follow the guide again.
worked this time. thanks
Just for expierementation purposes do you remember installing anything significant on your wii after the NAND backup that I could test to see caused this problem?

right. recovered from bricked wii, made a nand backup. (the recovery downgraded to 4.1 from teh bricked 4.2)
updated to fw4.2e, decided i'd rather virginise it and satrt all over again.
ran the guide, had to use ios36, ios249 would freeze. installed all the ios and system menu 4.2.
nand clean would black sceen me, and disconnet wiimotes.
flashed nand using the backup from recovery. didnt update this time.
ran the guide again, loaded in ios249.
installed all the ios's and the system menu 4.2 (really should have used 4.1 as the guide says huh?)
nand clean worked this time, went and deleted every ios over 200, worked flawlessly.
uninstalled bootmii, dvdx and homebrew chan.
formated the wii.
updated to 4.2, ran the softmod again. everything installed perfect this time.
and if i havent saud this before, thanks for the great guide!

error - 1017
Hi all, followed the guide to the letter but cannot get past uninstalling all the ios over 200. As soon as i open up anytitledeleter i'm getting errors:
informing wii that i am god...error! ES_identify (ret= -1017)
i've tried loading with a load of different ios but always the same error
Any help would be much appreciated!
I had to use AnyTitleDeleter Mod v6b as v6 was looking for the Trucha patch and all that in IOS
36, which I'm guessing I installed a clean IOS 36 when I used "Pack 2" because I had cIOSCORP v3.6 installed 222 (one of Hermes' IOSes), which I never installed. I thought I heard that v6b looks in IOS 249 for all those patches and stuff... so it fixed that problem.
EDIT: Fixed with proper info after doing a little more research.
