Restoring / Virginizing with a NAND backup?

I had 4.2U on my Wii, did the softmod and it's working GREAT!

But, my wife is complaining -- the Wii is technically hers, so, "why am I messing with the only thing she can play" when I should be tinkering with my PS3.

    So, a series of questions:

    1. Because I have my NAND backed up and can boot to BootMii through Boot2, can I just replace my dirty NAND with my clean original?
    2. Then, through the Hackmii Installer, uninstall BootMii and DVDx?
    3. Or, would it be recommended to restore my NAND but not uninstall BootMii in case of future problems?
    4. Restoring my NAND would clear Priiloader and the startup hacks off of my system, right?
    5. Also, unless I uninstall it, this shouldn't effect the way HBC operates, correct -- or effect any updates in the future. I REALLY want to keep HBC working so I can continue to play emulators and ROMs, and, because the wife mainly plays it, she's more likely to accept an update.

Help would be GREATLY appreciated -- in return I offer the advice, DON'T GET MARRIED, or at least don't let her monkey with your game systems.

Well I know your not supposed to downgrade if you bought your wii this year cuz it may brick... And im also fairly positive that if your on 4.2 and you try to downgrade you may brick... It would probably be best to check the forums on this! Seems kinda redundant though cuz you have to use homebrew to downgrade.

    @Andrew:
    1.yes
    2.also yes
3.If you are continung to use homebrew it would be best to keep bootmii.
4.Depending on if you installed priiloader before of after you backed up your NAND... if you installed it after you backed up NAND then yes it would remove it.
5.Well if your talking about uninstallig stuff via this guide you would loose ability to play Homebrew after step B2... and Nintendo Updates usually remove the Homebrew channel itself and depending on the update may remove other stuff like IOS's.

    Hope that helped!

    Wad Manager Problem

When loading ios 60-64 the Wad Manager will not let me choose Ios 249. The remote just starts flashing and I have to power down the Wii. Any suggestions?

when you load ios249 that is before you select ios60... you use ios249 to get wadmanager to run... and wadmanager just installes ios60 (along w/ a bunch of others) to the wii... Make sure you select ios249 to run wad manager with.

I had my system so messed up that I could not load ios249 to run Wadmanager. I was able to re-install ios249 and get my usb loader to work, thanks to the guides posted on this site.
    Thanks!!!

I'm trying to virginize my wii. I've got the following where I have my doubts about. Until part C everything goes fine. Now at part C1 the following occurs:

I start anytitle deleter. When it starts it says the following:
"Informing Wii that iI am God....OK!"
    ... OK
    ...
    ... OK

    Checking system region...

    ...
    ...
    Informing Wii that I am its daddy...Error! ES_identify (ret = -1017)
    Error! ES_OpenContent (ret = -1017)

Now when I press twice the A button the program continues and enters the anytitler deleter program. I can access the menus etc, but is it safe to use now to remove the channels?

Yes... It is safe... This actually said the same thing on my wii when I tested this guide before submitting it... I was still able to uninstall the channels I needed to without any problems.

This means you never installed an IOS249 to begin with (via softmod guide). IOS249 is usually a cIOS38 that is modified to let you run apps and programs like Wad Manager. With out it you may not be able to uninstall any of the IOS's above 200... You could try loading IOS60 with wad manager and depending if it was signed or not this might be able to make wad manager work. (DO NOT UNINSTALL IOS60... JUST LOAD WAD MANAGER WITH IT!)

Oke thank you. Gonna figure out which of the unknown channels I have to delete, because I have 6 unknown channels and counted only 5 custom channels on the homescreen. Anyway, thanks for the guide and help!

    Notes:

Priiloader schould be the same thing with Pack2 (if not please correct me).

If you have bootmi installed as IOS only there will be no option to uninstall bootmi in HackMii Installer because it (IOS 254) was uninstalled before (using anytitle deleter).

Viginizing worked for me on 4.2E. Thanks for the tutorial.
