I might just leave my wii as it is as everytime I do something it never works, I am constantly bumping into problems. I installed IOS250 and it still won't work, would just upgrading my Wii to 4.3 brick my console if I leave the homebrew channel on it and just upgrade?

Probably not... It would remove the HomeBrew Channel but it won't remove bootmii as boot2 so if you have that and a NAND backup it would be safe to try.

If the boot2 version is lower then v4 then the 4.3 update Will overwrite bootmii/boot2.

Well considering this guide is for 4.2 users then boot2 should already be boot2v4 unless they downgraded it or installed an old version of bootmii.

yes you just reinstall... And there is no reason to quote the whole guide...

Just click on the SD card menu and reinstall it w/ the "hackmii" installer...

I bought a nintendo wii on Sunday and I had heard it was pretty simple to softmod a wii. Anyway, we had already inserted a harry potter game and updated the system to version 4.2e, thus making it harder to softmod, from what I can see. I just don't want the console to brick as it is my girlfriend's present, and i wanted to downgrade to 3.2 and install starfall to prevent disc upgrades, however, I read I couldn't install starfall because my version was 4.2e. Like I said the end result I am after is for the Wii not to brick, be it by installing starfall somehow, which I have now felt I cannot do, or by completely removing any traces of softmodding. But when I loaded up WAD manager at the start of this guide, it seems IOS249 has been removed, I must have done this earlier on. I not an expert on these things but I considered myself as comfortable with electronics, this teaches me never to mess with things again.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to explain my situation so that I can get help to not brick my wii.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
