I understand your frustration I too went and purchased the retail disc as my backup copy was giving me issues. I beleive you need to run the RawkSD to get it to work. Do you have anything else in you SZAD folder beside the bin's? I noticed jtp said he put the padding.app and the 3 title.xxx files into each folder. Is this required?

You must use an SD card for RB2, SDHC wont work.
If you are running the retail disc or a backup with a mod chip and trying to load the DLC off an SD card it should work.

Make sure your IOS 37 is the newest version and accepts fakesigning (trucha bug patched). Dop-Mii is the best way to do this.

That should be all you need to do.

I run a clean Wii 4.2U with just the needed IOS's patched for various things that require it. I have some cIOS installed also but that would not effect running RB2 off a retail disc. Once RB2 loads the only thing running should be IOS37 and the game.

Make sure when installing the unlock WAD files you get the proper error, -1022 for WM 1.5 and I think -1017 for older wad manager.

You can try uninstalling the wad multiple times until you get error -1 all the time, and the re-install.

Make sure you have the DLC in the proper folders on the SD card, using the DLC manager is the easiest way, or go into the store and download some DLC and then see where it puts it. It should be SD:\private\wii\DATA\<Title ID>, ex (PAL Gen1): SD:\private\wii\DATA\sZAP

I think the largest thing that is causing people problems is soft-modded Wii's people did with a tutorial or a premade installer pack and they really have no idea what they have done to their Wii, with all the IOS patched and messed up who knows whats going on when you launch a game.

Yup, got an old kingston 2GB SD as well as a new 2GB MicroSD with adapter. Both working well with RB2 loaded via USBLoader before i venture deeper into getting DLCs and end up buying the retail disc as well. Currently now, working only on Kingston SD (definitely not SDHC).

Followed exactly what you recommended in the first post. Took me couple of minutes to read up, digest and understand how to patch the 37 which i did without any error. I recalled accepting fakesigning along with nand emulation when it prompt me before patching. Basically doing all the A when i load the 36, get deeper into the menu, patch the 37 via NUS since i do not have the IOS on my SD card.

Running retail disc via disc channel is fine. Just that the DLCs on the SD card ain showing up. Going into the music store is ok with tracks showing purchased. Downloading 1st track is fine with prompt showing it is copying over to SD right after the download is done. No luck in getting the 2nd DLCs downloaded with the 204704 error. Resetting the Wii doesn't save me from the situation as well.

I did the re-installation as well, getting the -1022 since i am using the newer WM 1.5. All looking good till i started downloading DLCs from the store since the DLCs on the SD ain showing up.

I used the Rock Band DLC Manager by Remfin. Basically map the path to the root of SD card and let the program do the rest of the work after i selected the DLCs i like to play. No error transferring. No manual creation of folders by myself. I see the DLCs are being placed properly after the transfer. Looks good.

I guess so. I might just plan to redo the whole softmod thing again when i have time. As the Wii is not with me, have to plan ahead and prepare to spend couple of hours to do the whole thing again which i hope not to.

Heading over to my gal's place now and do the RawkSD patcher and see how it goes. Reporting back later.

Are you using a PAL or an NTSC version of RB2. The "Rock Band DLC Manager" will create folders for the NTSC version, which means that you have to rename the folder to sZxP (where x can be A, B, C or D depending on which Gen you use) otherwise the PAL RB2 will not recognize it.

Using NTSC version of RB2 on NTSC Wii.
The folders created by Rock Band DLC Manager are correct: sZAE, SZBE, sZCE and sZDE, without needing me to correct it.

Last attempt this late afternoon return no result: same situation like before... sadly...

Back to do a little "reporting" (if all don't mind)

1st thing i did is to clear all save game found on Wii memory: GH5, BH, RB2 as well as DLCs found on the system memory.

Next, i run the RawkSD patcher : successful. Went on to reboot Wii.

Took the 2GB SD card, load it up on pc and fire up DLC Manager.
Delete all tracks found on the SD.
Re-transfer back 74 tracks back on to the SD card: no error.

Load the SD back on Wii.
Proceed to re-install WADs since i get the impression that re-installing make no harm.
Got 4 times 1022 error : looking good.

Load the retail RB2 disc into the Wii and launch the game via disc channel.
Proceed to Solo play and the next sight make me cry... No DLCs listed!
Recomposed myself, i exit the game and took out the SD card and purge all track out of the card via DLC Manager.... clean empty SD.

Load up the SD back in Wii again and launch RB2 via disc channel.
Went into Music Store and attempt to download a track: successful.
*while selecting a track, i notice the tracks shown as purchased get lesser than before.
No exact figure since i don't count on my previous attempt but track like Jeremy by Stone Temple Pilot is show as "200" instead of purchased which i recall.*
1st track proceed to move to SD after completion: looking good.
Proceed to download 2nd track: completed!
Proceed to download 3rd track: same 204704 error encountered. Heart sunk at that message...

Exit the game and re-launch RB2.
Head back to Music Store and attempt to download the 3rd track again: successful!
    So is the 4th track!
However, the 5th download took my smile away with 204704 error again.
Seems like it is rather inconsistent.

Just curious if anyone encounter 204704 after they successfully get the WADs done, ISO37 patched and load from disc channel to download DLCs?

    *sidetrack*
While scratching my head on RB2, i went on to attempt the hack on Band Hero and have much success (better than RB2).

Using a 8GB SDHC card for BH.
Installed GH5, GHWT and GHSH WADs. 56 was patched before.

Launch BH via disc channel using retail disc.
Proceed to music store and found most track comes with a nice green tick.
Went on to download 4 DLCs straight without error and get it to save on SD card directly.
The 5th throw me a 240905 (if i recall correctly) error and i exit the game and re-launch.
All previous downloads shows up nicely.

I went on to make the biggest attempt: download Smash Hits track pack.
Uncheck few tracks from the whole list and proceed to download and save to SD card.
Went for a smoke, make myself a cup of coffee and the download completed!
You bet that make my day after RB2 failed me big time! ^^

I proceed to download 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkin: successful.
I then decided: that's all for the day, time to play!
Went to training mode and decided to do 1979 but was prompted to download GHWT update in order to play. I thought: why not since i have better luck downloading on BH than RB2.
I proceed to the store again, head to special (i think) and click on GHWT which have a green tick.
(i saw another GHWT v2 update which have no tick).
Went on to download but face a 240950 error (if i again recall correctly).
I just give a sign and tell myself: better luck other days... let play...
All previous DLCs shows up beautifully in BH and i do a little jamming before i make my way back home and type my long and boring findings here.

Pardon me for this long post... Appreciate all patience to my grumbling and all possible advice to RB2 situation i'm having. Do really hope i can use the DLCs i have painstakingly downloaded on my PC which took me 3 days to complete.

    Thanks all!

Thanks for the reply jtp. I check and reinstalled the latest IOS 37. Everything works fine until I put a DLC that I have down loaded using the PC tools. I formatted the SD card, down loaded a song from the music store and it shows when I place the SD card back in the DLC manager. I then transfered one song to the sZAE file and try it in the Wii and it will no longer place the add-on content on the system memory and disables the SD card mode? I noticed the DLC manager said that it was overwriting the sZAE file after I transfer one song. Could this have something to do with it??

Error codes can be looked up at support.nintendo.com

    Error Code: 204704

    Wii Shop Channel
There are appears to be a temporary problem with the Wii Shop Channel.

    Its just a connection error.

As for the PC Tools DLC not showing at all... only thing I can think of is if the ng_id.txt is still blank or wrong. Although I am not really sure what that would do exactly.

I hope someone can help me. I got everything working, backup copy through disc channel, and the DLC is working fine too.
Problem is that everytime I start the game it tells me its copying to the SD card, everytime I start the game. And it takes quite a long time. I dont think its even putting anything on the SD card at all. the 302 blocks file is still on my Wii after I look for it, and the SD card is empty.
I've looked everywhere but cant get past this one, hope someone can recognize my problem.

Delete the 302 block crap off the Wii. Check your IOS37. Have you run a softmod package? As I keep saying, those softmod packages seem to mess everything up.
