When you install an IOS using hermes installer, it downloads the required IOS information from the Nintendo servers. It does not use the IOSs from your Wii. Patched IOS60 is on your Wii, not the Nintendo servers.

i didn't install the others Hermes rev5 cIOS, just the 223 with 37 base... and i still with cIOS38 rev 14.

Messie's Guide does not have you remove the stubbs, I ran into this problem last night while doing a softmod, ended up using shadows guide and everything worked out. Though Messie's guide is over 500 pages, I am sure there is probably something in one of those pages about removing the stubs.
Hey Stomp, everyone seems to be having trouble installing ios222, I'd like to know has anybody tried to install the ios222.wad from way back, the reason I ask is because I want to install it myself and was wondering, the wad or go with your guide on page 1 with Hermes v.4. I'm kinda new and the wad seems easier ?
Hermes cIOS v5 and Waninkokos cIOS X rev19, which would be the "right" base IOS to use?
Hermes cIOS v5 uses:
IOS202 - install IOS60 as a base
IOS222 - install IOS38 as a base
IOS223 - install IOS37 as a base
IOS224 - install IOS57 as a base
and Waninkokos cIOS X rev19 uses:
IOS249 - install IOS 37 or 38 as a base (although Waninkoko recommends IOS57 as a base -> Triiforce wont work)
Guess I'll be running following:
IOS202 - with IOS60 as a base
IOS222 - with IOS38 as a base
IOS249 - with IOS37 as a base
IOS224 - with IOS57 as a base (wont install for the time beeing)
Has anyone tested this on different USB loaders / games???

From my experience, the v4 downloads are not working, I did a search and found the files for local install off of the SD chip, found Here.
This thread is for the install of hermes v5, which is different that hermes v4. This installer (v5) will install IOS222 only with a base of IOS38. That's the way hermes wants it. Besides, all of the USB Loaders now support IOS223, even USB Loader GX. Now all the USB Loaders can be on the same page and install IOS223 with IOS37 in the base, as Hermes intended all along. When I posted the Hermes v4 guide, I made it so IOS222 would install with a base of IOS37, because so may members use USB Loader GX and earlier versions of GX didn't support IOS223.

Stomp_442 I do apologise for the typo v4, should have been v5. I wasn't second guessing you about using the wad by the way, being new it just seemed easier. Anyway I have 222 / 223 installed now thanks to your guide.
I did follow this guide for installing the 202,222,223 IOS's but the USB Loader GX I was using (v919, the latest taken from the website) would not load most of the games from the HDD (Seagate's Freeagent 500GB Go drive), They were working with the v4 installed, I ended up going back to the v4 and the older USB Loader GX v907, now they work correctly again.
I would try to use messie's guide again now that I have the stubb removal part down, but why mess with something that works for now.
