    Trouble

When I proceed to install IOS249 my Wii remote automatically turns off? Does any one know why that would be? As well, can anyone tell me how long these steps are suppose to take? Mine stays for a while on the same page saying "Reloading IOS 249 ......." highlighted in green

Perhaps the Hermes installer is not recognizing IOS249, try selecting IOS250 to run Hermes installer. You may have to reinstall your IOS249, what version of IOS249 are you using?

    1. Unplug any GameCube memory card or controller you may have plugged in.
    2. Open homebrew Channel and select the cIOS installer.
    3. Select IOS249 for install, press the "A" button.
    4. Select custom IOS 202 v65535 to install, press the "A" button.
    5. Select IOS base, IOS 60, press the "A" button, wait for download.
    6. Press the "1" button to install
    7. When completed, the Homebrew Channel will reboot, this is normal operation.

I have two ciso installer on my homebrew: cios 222 installer/ says cios for uloader and cios installer/ says installs cios38 rev 14
I hope it is cios222 installer because that is what I used due to the fact that ciso rev14 one doesn't let me do any of the steps mentioned so I hope it is cios 222 installer, is it?

Also I was wondering is it crucial to keep updating when the newest IOS comes out?

Hmm I can't even see iso 224 for step 22, is this okay?

This is the one you want to select. No, you don't have to keep updating unless your stuff don't work anymore, then it's time for an update. You may want to update your other cIOS to cIOS38 rev17, I noticed you had rev14 on your SD card.

I have updated this guide to include Hermes cIOS installer v5.1

    Version 5.1

    Hermes messageto 25 May 2010 11:22
    - Added dev / mload shadow engine. To avoid detection of devices on PoP games without patches

    - Added support for files. wip (add to folder "codes" in the SD or USB. See the txt version for more information) (corrected)

    - Removed support for a USB port (does not work well and not where the problem XD)

    - Fixed DVD reading damn chip (dedicated to Spaceman Spiff [+ laughs])

-Added an updated Installer cIOS not necessary since uLoader (addition to other loaders can hide "/ dev / mload" opening "/ dev / mload / OFF)

view the source for more information
[UTILIDAD] uLoader v5.1D (Emulacion saves, DLC, Wiiware) (681 de 690) @ ElOtroLado.net Wii Softmods
Coinstar-Yes, the 5.1 installer should use the same base IOS's for installation that the Hermes v5 installer uses.

If you are doing a network install, you need a wifi connection. If you are doing a wad install, then you need the required wad file on the root of your SD card. All should work well like that, for installing IOS249. You know this is the IOS222/223 thread and you asked about installing IOS249???

    Cool

    Hi Stomp_442

I really appreciate the offline install packaged you put together for the Hermes cIOS.

Trying to download the new 5.1 offline package on thread:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...222-223-a.html
    and get the following error:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/attachment.p...8&d=1275107906
"vBulletin Message: Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

Could you * please * take a look into this for me or re-up the 5.1 offline package with IOS.
or am I the only one getting this error?

    I'm in your debt.

    Kind regards

    ~Angst~

EDIT: Thank you Stomp_442 for the prompt assistance and quick re-up of the 5.1 file at a users request. Much respect!

Sorry, I hacked my wii using a different site. I finally gave up, deleted all the old stuff and followed shadows guide. Everything worked perfectly. Thanks for all the help!
