    Hi.

I think I have a semi-bricked with a D2Ckey. My gf got a copy of Mario Kart PAL on her NTSC Wii and installed the update. Did not appear to brick it initially.
She initially had some problems with a couple of games like Pikmin 2 only showing up in black and white. After updating to 4.1 all the PAL games show up in black and white even if NeoGamma is set to ForceNTSC and even if the game is region patched.
I was following this thread and thinking about downgrading as instucted here and then applying the disc update; but it says there is a chance I might brick it for good if I apply a disc update after downgrading. Any comments?

Nevermind, I answered my own question while browsing.

The identical disc images to those that Bushing referred are also here: Wii Fix Disc Unbricks Semi-Brick by Import Mario Kart, SSBB Code Retard

Make sure and choose the right region version.

Hi Jbloggs. The site given back in 2008 gives a 404 error. This is the site given,"http://static.hackmii.com/wii-system...v290-repad.rar". Do u have any other site?

    Nightmare getting this going...

I got semi-bricked too. The solution for me was to burn a copy of wii music for japan and have it update the system menu. May not work for everyone because I'm fairly certain that my wii is modded (it was given to me). I couldn't install homebrew until I'd fixed my semi-brick issue.

A modded Wii can be un-semi-bricked more easily, using the update disks released by Bushing at hackmii. Download the correct disk for your region, burn and run on your Wii.[/INDENT]

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Please remember, however, that this applies only to semi-bricked consoles, none of this will work for fully bricked Wiis.

I soft modded my wii using this walk thru
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

I accidentally ran a PAL game on my NTSC console. It semi-bricked it.

The links in this first post, bring u to links where u select region.. those links are not active/ broken..
Semi-brick fix discs for all three regions (updated)

Can someone please post an updated disc or solution??

    thanks in advance.

Just use HBC to launch Wad manager and then install IOS60patched IOS60patched.rar and System menu 4.1 USA 4.1U-RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v449.wad - 4.1, USA
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

so far not working for me, going to try new dvd, using a pretty cheap brand, i noticed its not reading some of my other disks either, so it could be part of the problem.
