Thanks for the list Ithian. Follow-up question with this. Since everyone is in agreement that 4.1 system menu is the best softmodded one. Would someone post the updated IOSs, cIOSs etc of a completely/perfectly softmodded wii 4.1 (able to play many backup games). So anyone could just install that particular IOS via DOP-MII to update. Thanks in advance.

been reading up on all this stuff, so bare with me.

I'm a little confused as to what i need to have a fully functioning softmodded Wii at 4.2 that acts as if its 4.3 without actually updating.

I know for the shop channel you need ISO56(5662) installed, but what other ISO do i really need. Will i need one for the forcast/new or picture channel?

reason i want all these channels updated is so the kids don't update to 4.3 even though its blocked in priiloader, or is it saver to use AnyTitle deleter and just remove them since they are useless.

To my understanding we are in a development period with the intent of getting a post-mod IOS list for each of the softmod guides. Expect something of this nature in the not-too-distant future. For the time being you can view the following post to gather some more information on how Wiihacks staffers set up their consoles: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tml#post389078

Once you've got Priiloader set up to block disc/online updates you're good to go. If a black screen occurs you can update the IOS that game needs, but this shouldn't be a common occurrence to worry about. The only channel that ever requests an update is Shop, and only if yours isn't the latest installed version. If you don't think you'll ever use it, ATD/ATD Mod is a good way to go (it's what I did). If you want to keep it Krank has a guide for updating to the latest version and mauifrog has a blog post on never needing to update it again by patching the install file.

I softmodded my 4.2U Wii about two years or so ago using Messie's guide. Now I see that a lot of my IOS (files?) seem to be old for the exception of IOS58 (which I had to reinstall on top of iteself followed by the hbc). My question is should I reinstall all the IOS files on my old Wii with the new updated ones (including IOS224 and above)?

I tend to perscribe to the 'update when you have to' philosophy. Some people never update their core (under 200) IOS and never have an issue. Hermes and Wanin IOS updates are optional depending on if you need/want what they offer. Back to class or I'd add more.

Hey Ithian! It's good to hear from you. Well, I agree with you about don't fix it if it isn't broken. I do have a problem with WiiDoom .Such a killer port but it black screens on me a lot and I don't like that

I would suggest not updating 249 to 20b. Leave it at r17 for the best compatibility. If you really want to update official IOS's, I would suggest starting with 38, 53, 55, and 56.
