that would be not necessary. As a nand restore will fix your issue completely.
It could be that your IOS is not working as bushing found out about timing issues on newer wiis in the power circuit that is causing your issue.
Can you open your wii? Bad ad or I can flash your nand back and fix your wii that way. No problem with that.
That is a lot cheaper than buying a new one

    Edit:
about your old wii, just hook the power on and switch it on. See if it flashes.
One flash is good, 2 flashes is better. No flash and just blue light is bad and if it does not switch on it is even worse

I've never heard a user equating opening up his Wii would constitute the user "messing it up some more." Both Erikie and Bad_Ad084 routinely offer their services to restore folks' Wiis that get full-on brick problems. This generally requires you to have a NAND backup for the particular Wii.

We both flash back nands for wiis or flash in bootmii in boot2 vulnerable wiis.
We have a nand programmer at hand and the means to remove the nand chip and put it back. I repaired about 50 wiis that way. Don't know how many bad ad did.
However you need to ship your wii to Europe then and it would be cheaper if you could only ship your mainboard instead of a complete wii ...
Or you need to contact someone in the US. Deadlyfoez is someone who can do it for you over there

It flashed twice, then stayed black for a second and flashed twice again, then stayed black

that probably means that bootmii is installed in boot2 and you can either unbrick it or reformat the complete wii with the nand formatter.
Just insert a bootmii SD card and switch it on again. See what happens

I never hacked my old Wii, I think the second flashes are because of the component cables

Edit: My old Wii is opened up and everything looks messed up.

I have a NAND backup, and what I meant to say by "mess it up even more" is that I don't want to open it up because i know i'll mess something up (lose screw, break a chip, etc.)

My uncle opened up my old Wii, he can't put it back together and im sure he lost some pieces. Can I get more info on the repair service please?

I have no idea how many Wii's I've reprogrammed by now... Gotta be around the same as Erikie and I've removed other tsop48 chips (same size/pins as Wii nand) on hundreds of modems/routers.

I don't have a website, but I do offer the service via ebay if you prefer (at an increased cost because of fees, I offer directly to Wiihacks users cheaper). Not sure about Erikie as we are completely separate people offering the service. We just both happen to do it and post here and depending on your location its cheaper to ship to him or me.

Regarding your old Wii, I have tons of spares that I usually just throw away (screws, plastic parts from the casing etc) as long as the motherboard works you should be able to repair it.

If you want me to repair your wii shoot me a PM however shipping is expensive from US to Europe. You better get in contact with Deadlyfoez. He is also on gbatemp forum.
I also have tons of spare parts for wiis as I have a whole stack of boot1c / d boards that are probably bricked for good
Your old wii should be repairable as long as it still turns on and flashes.
And your new wii works again after flashing back the backuped nand.

ok, I will definitely try contacting DeadlyFoez. I already tried to go to a repair place and they said they don't chip Wiis

Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it!

Edit: I contacted DeadlyFoez and I'm working on sending the Wii.

    About the old Wii:
I'm thinking about fixing it since it can have bootmii as boot2, I could hack it without worrying about bricking (custom themes, etc, sounds exciting!! ), and I could use the new one for legit Nintendo stuff, but I would still keep HBC and BootMii on that Wii.
