If you give me your nand dump I can post you a pre-programmed nand chip to you.
Is much easier than getting an infectus. However I still have one lying around unused...
Hello there, thanks for the offer! Hmm are they pretty hard to solder in? And how much would that be?

soldering the nand is not too hard, just use some braid to suck away excessive solder and make sure to test everything for good contact before you switch the wii on. I can do it for $ 20 incl shipping / flashing and a nand off course.
You can upload your nand to my server if you need. Just send me a PM if you want it with your email address in it and we can work out the rest.
If you think I helped you please click the little thanks button

Its not too hard.... with the correct tools. Unfortunately its easy to forget not everyone has a decent soldering iron or hot air station.

This video is the exact method I use for TSOP chips.

YouTube - TSOP32 Installation Drag Method | BEST, Inc.

Erikies offer is about the same as what Id charge and to be honest thats pretty good pricing... to buy the chips themselves separately is actually quite expensive.

Doesn't look too hard. Then again I only have a regular old soldering iron and de-soldering iron. I'm sure I can pull this off?

I flashed your nand backup into a spare nand chip, however I believe you have a bootmii boot2 compatible wii. Did not check it completely yet but can you check what happens when you switch on your wii without sd card in it? How many flashes in the drive slot do you see?

Can a 0834 cpu be fixed with infectus?

you need to flash it into a nand flasher using the apps etc in the first post. once you done that and wired it up you should be good to go.

read last couple of pages if you have samsung nand chip as they need better ground etc.

to confirm you wii will be repairable, post the first 4 numbers from the bottom right of the large chip under the heatsink.

    should start 06,07,08,09 or 10

only if you have a nand backup.

without a backup you cant do it as 0834 is bootmii as IOS.

updated 3.2 to 4.1 still banner brick

    erikie please help!

OHH WII GOODSS! oh wii gods please i implore your help. help this poor dumb soul recover his precious little wii.

i had a launch wii, installed homebrew channel (and other stuff like wads and ios that i had no idea what was for) via twilight hack, was able to play backup games and non-US region backups. i updated firmware last june i think. then i was playing my backup games until my screen went blank. i restarted wii, got to the health warning screen, press A, then black screen--banner brick.

so i get gamecube controller, press all 4 buttons, get to a black screen that says 3.2 (US) at the bottom. then i get an original new super mario brothers disc and insert it and after a couple of minutes i see the wii channels "slide appear then disappear" and black screen again. i reset the console and go into recovery again to see my NEW firmware is 4.1 (US). so new super mario brothers updated my firmware but didnt recover my console because i still am in a banner brick.

    what now?

i tried downloading all sorts of recovery discs that didnt work and tried putting all sorts of software in the SD card that didnt work either.

i have no idea what trucha bug is, dont have modchip, dont have savemii (but have savemiifrii).

do i ABSOLUTELY need drivekey to boot the recovery disks? i read on other places that some wiis can boot recovery disc with gamecube controller.

i dont want to buy a drivekey and not be sure that it is the solution. please tell me if my only chance is to get infectus chip instead of drivekey, then i will go that route. i dont know if infectus will be the better solution or more "future-proof" solution instead of just a modchip (read in other forums that modchips do not guarantee autoboot of recovery discs and such).
    H E L P!!!

try autobooting wiifit, then when you are in the game say the time/date is wrong which will get you into the wii settings, then format it.

    that should remove the banner

wiifit works OK however you need:
    a) a modchip for autoboot to work
    b) a balance board otherwise you will not reach the question about the date and time settings
and when you do the above you can first try to remove the channel from datamanagement. No need to format the wii immediately!
