    hello,

is there a usa version of the formatter by chance ?
have recovered a few wii's with the pal ver although i have to run the setting replacer tool afterwards to get it to work due to the formatter being in pal version.

If anyone has a link please leave pm

    TIA

I will upload one into the thread in the first post, but it will only be the formatter. The wad files must be obtained seperately
If you think I helped you please click the little thanks button
Send me a PM if you have any questions regarding unbricking with infectus mod chip or post a message in here http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...installed.html

Just a heads up for anybody who bricks there Wii with a NAND backup, but bootmii as an IOS. Yes that's what I did! Well if you're in the UK you could do much worse than PM Bad_Ad84. He's just fixed mine, with a day turn around and a fair price, so thanks again Bad_Ad84

    Hi!
I just followed your tutorial and everything went fine, rebooted the wii, but still got the black screen.
I tried to connect it to the PC again to check if anything went wrong but now the software did not want to detect what NAND chip that's in the wii.
Then one of the wires came loose and i noticed that I've accidentally swapped DATA 0 and 1 with each other.
I quickly swapped them but that did not help.

Now any program i try will not detect what NAND it is anymore. Only random bytes, mostly 0xff and 0x20.
I don't know how i was able to do that, but that's how it went. :/

Anyone got any idea if this is fixable and if so, how?

    Thanks

You could edit the xml file and add an entry by copying the correct identifier block (but using the identifier you're getting now) so you will be able to recognize the nand chip again. Write the first 8 blocks as per erik's tutorial (assuming you have boot1b).

that is incorrect, identifier doesnt change.

if its not getting the correct id, something is wrong. trying to trick it isnt going to make it write correctly.

in that case, have you tried disconnect/connect in nand flasher a few times ? If that doesn't help, check the via's to check if the connections have been made properly (see this topic for a diagram)
