console i was talking about earlier is now repaired, hollywood did infact need reflowing.

Ive also had another one like this since and same results.

Its likely because im buying bottom of the barrel wii's off ebay that ive managed to get 2, but everything is up and running.

    next up is wii remotes.

also, if anyone in the uk needs repair work i do take most work on.
What were the symptoms of those wiis? No blue flash?
I have one that flashes but refuses to start bootmii although it is flashed in.
Tried to heat up both CPUs with hot air but no results yet...

Do you use the infectus software for this? Just click on NAND programmer in one of the menus and then click program....

    Talking Fixed !

The Wii I was talking about a page earlier is fixed. Had to rewrite the original 8 blocks (with the theme brick) back first since it still had 8 blocks from a boot1b bootmii dump after my last attempt.

Anyway, maintenance mode didn't work. Savemii however still brought up a nice looking 3.2EUR down right.

A bit of googling and I found this : RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

I used that in conjunction with the Savemii and wad manager started. I popped in the sd card with the files from the formatter on page 1. Then applied three wads (I skipped the eula one) and rebooted the Wii. It worked again System firmware 3.1 of course, so I used NSMB for an update and now it's running on 4.1 perfectly.

    I keep thanking

Whichever is more comfortable to you. I solder them over the lenght of the leg (straight up) so you have a strong bond. You can also use the part of the leg that's flat on the board. Like I said, whichever makes you more comfortable.

you were lucky to have 3.2 in the wii so you had trucha bug in IOS. Otherwise you could not have started the wad manager ...

When soldering to legs, is there any danger of desoldering the nand? or will it stay there?
To solder to nand i should just tin my wire eh? i shouldn apply any solder the the nand itself?
Are the legs part of mobo or nand?

Are you sure you want to do this ? From the sounds of it, you might be better off practicing a bit on old mainboard/videocards before you venture into this project.

Anyway, I tin the wire, dip it in flux gel, put it on the leg and solder it (at 350 degrees celcius). The legs are part of the nand. The nand legs themselves don't need tinning.
