Well. I got a bit further last night. Redid all the wires and still the same unknown flashid the first 2 connects. Then I decided to try again, but now not using the D0-GND during Wii startup.

And Nand Flasher picked up the correct chip right away. Did a few writes and reads of small sections (8 blocks, 16 blocks). No differences.

Wrote the entire nand backup then and decided to dump the nand again, to compare. And again there were differences. Blocks (704 dec in length) with FFFFFFFF's where the bootmii dump had actually data.

So now I decided to flash a part of the bootmii nand backup, a part starting at the beginning and about 8 blocks after the first difference (FFFFFFFF). I hope you know what I mean

Anyway, did that and a dump afterwards.. and it was the same !

I'll be damned.. maybe some corruption on the buffer or something, I don't know. Tonight I'll try to flash it again, but now in 4 parts. I suppose that's what the start and end offset are for

any luck already? Looks like your infectus connection drops or so. Had a couple of nands that were also acting up but since you need to flash the whole lot that could be a problem.
What happens if you disconnect en connect again after flashing for so long, is the nand still recognised?

Yup, no problem recognizing whatsoever. It's really the D0-GND thing that makes it act up on identifying the flashid. Is there a 'too-long' time you can short GND and D0 ? I use a few secs to be sure. Worked fine on the other Wii board.

Anyway, just wrote the stuff in 4 stages to the Nand, now dumping it back for comparison. And guess what.. random blocks (always 704 in length) which are there in the original nand dump are FFFF in the new dump.. bleh.. will hook up a new Infectus2 tomorrow.. time for beer and Lost now

Also, what size is a Bootmii nanddump supposed to be. The customer had about 232mb worth of nand on his SD..

Bootmii nand dump should be 528 Mb so your customers dump is a bit off

Well, ok, then it ends here. I might fiddle a bit to make sure the Infectus I'm using has no issues or to learn for the future, but if I read that correctly, this Wii can never be unbricked ?

OK, cleaned up my inbox. It was pretty full
The only thing I can think off is that the hollywood is doing writes to the nand at that time then.
You have the keys for the board you are trying to fix? Then there is still hope!!
You can use inbetwiin to convert a nand from another wii to this wii. Did that many times too

Aha, so it's not all over.. I have the keys.bin. Now to find a good PAL 4.x 1c nand dump..

Also, for the hollywood thing, 4 ground wires and the other infectus will be the final try.

Thanks for not giving up on this basket case

You can use any nand backup as long as you put the first 8 blocks of the original wii at the beginning and stuff the keys at the end.
The only problem is that you never know if you have a badblock at the wrong place in your wii....
That could spoil the conversion for you but at least it is worth a shot. If you can flash the complete nand though...........

No luck creating a new nand.bin I can use.

Yes, I stripped the keys part from the good nand dump (divide by 2112 error) before I begun. Don't know what's going on. ActivePython problem ?

I don't know what you do and if you installed all the required bits and pieces for it but I never had a problem. In fact I am going to do one right now
