    [Simple Guide] NUS Downloader

NUS Downloader is a PC Application that can download, and pack to wad, many different IOS and System Menu versions. It's created by WB3000 and at the time of writing is currently at v1.3 BETA.

This is a brief run through of how you obtain, open and use the application.

It is not designed to show you how you fix any particular problem and the files downloaded in this guide may not be the ones you need. Installing wads indiscriminately can be harmful to your Wii. I take no responsibility for any damage YOU do to your Wii.

Beware: NUS Downloader allows you to download stub IOS such as IOS60 v6400, which if installed on 4.0/4.1 will full brick your Wii, you have been warned!!. Other stubs include IOS50 v5120, IOS249 v65280 and every System IOS. NUSD will warn you in the dialog box about stub IOS, so pay attention.

First off have a look at the Wiibrew page which includes a download link and link to the authors site.

    NUS Downloader - WiiBrew

Download the zip file and extract to a folder name of your choice.

You should get a folder looking a little like this

    Open the NUSD application.

    Click PACK-->WAD option.

    For an IOS
Click Database>IOS and choose the one you want.

    For a System menu
Click Database>System>System Menu and choose the one you want

Finally click on Start NUS Download button on the App.

After a time it will complete downloading, note System Menu are larger than 20MB.

The application will have created a new folder, something like this..

And inside is our wad file

As always install any wads using Wad manager. When installing System Menu ALWAYS install IOS first, then System Menu.

This is not the place to ask questions as to which IOS and System Menu files you need to download to cure your problem, any replies as such will be deleted and if you persist infractions will be raised against you.

NUSD can also be used to download Opera Channel, Shopping Channel, Wiiware and Virtual Console titles and other things.

Great post, I am understanding what it does in the post but I have a few questions.

    1. Do the newer wad's you create overwrite the old version on the WII, or do I have to uninstall the old version first.

    2. So for example, if I need a specific iso or ciso for a game I can use this to get the wad put it on my stick and use wad manager to install the new ones?

    3. Can this be used to resolve problems with DOL that I cannot play metro prime?

    Thanks in advance!

1 - yes, the newer files overwrite the older ones.

2 - yes, or SD card.

3 - search for that one.

It doesn't matter too much I guess.

It's ok to install IOS60, Sys Menu vxxx, then DOP-IOS IOS60 to patched, then install Preloader if that's what it desired. Same goes for IOS70 I'd imagine.

Wonder if it's worth linking to IOS60p and ISO70p in the opening post.
