Wow cool! I'm gonna use this to install the shop channel and things that came with the new system menu. Since I'm not gonna update, this will be really helpful. Thanks again!

@ Paradoxum: If you just completed ShadowSonic2's guide your Ios' should all be up to date. You can check and update them if need be with the dopmii app found in HBC.(homebrew)

I am on a friends wii w/bootmii/boot2, so I have been using it as a test wii. It is on SM 4.1U. I want to make the wii shop channel accessible to my friend so I have installed the newest vers, but when I go to wii shop it asks for update. I have attached a syscheck, any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!!

I was referred to ths thread via link from a previous post. I downloaded NUS Downloader and followed guide step by step. I still get DVD Read Error 1142. The person that was assisting me asked for a sys chk which i did and he stated my IOS were out of date. So I compared what I had with new list, however when I went to utilize NUS there was even newer versions available. I believe that I am messing up with the system menu part. If you dont mind, could you please break that down for me again. Also, when I went thru the NUS list i had 16 IOS out of date including IOS 36 which is my system menu. I have got to be missing a step or not following as well as I should. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

OK I used this guide and it worked wonderfully. My son can now play store bought games HOWEVER NEOGAMMA still gives me the DVD READ`ERROR MESSAGE 1142. Could it be the version that is still on console Neogamma R8 RC3*, IOS 249 (Rev 17), or did i install something wrong????

The versions to use were in Ithian's guide I linked you to. There may be "later" versions, but Ithian denotes them as being stubs and there's no point (and in fact, quite dangerous if you do --- for example IOS 30, your System Menu runs off of) in updating to stubs. I give you a one-time exemption to PM me back to your thread here after you've posted your latest IOS via SysCheck. Also please confirm in that thread that this is an original System Menu 3.2 unit and not some kind of downgrade (Wiis sold about a year ago had a D3-2 drive, which would prohibit backups from running and give error codes similar to this).

    ok 2 questions

sorry to ask these simple questions but I want to make sure i don't accidentally make a brick. So, I believe I need to install IOS56-64-v5405 on my 4.1U Wii to solve a black screen problem I have with super mario galaxy 2. I downloaded the IOS per the instructions on this post.

    1. Now what I think I'm supposed to do is put the file I downloaded in the WAD folder on my SD card and install it with WAD manager. Do I just put the .wad file in there, or the whole folder that was created by NUSD?

    2. Once it is installed, do I need to patch it or something?

Thanks! This forum has been very helpful.

Does anyone know when you choose the IOS you want and three numbers come up for you to choose from which one you choose and what each one is for? Also do I have to choose and IOS number and also a System Menu or if I get the Wad for the IOS number if that is all I need to try and correct the black screen issue on some games. Not really up on this stuff, but appreciate any help anyone can give me.
