I read the tutorial and didn't see any recommendation of having a good brick recovery installed. With all that talk of NAND and wads, shouldn't there be some kind of warning. Just so some noob don't brick his Wii because he didn't have some kind of brick recovery, maybe even discourage using this tutorial until brick protection is installed.

actually the only thing you do is dump your nand and then use the copy if the nand to install games on the usb, and run them directly from there, so no wads installed in the wii nand, all of them go to the usb or sd card

Messie has it right. You are running a copy of the nand, not the real nand, so if something goes wrong with the emulated nand, you can just create another copy from your wii's working nand.

The only thing that you install during this guide is the forwarder channel which is completely optional. Everything you do in this guide can be contained on an SD card.

That's good to know, so there is a low chance of bricking.

    Thumbs up

Just want to say that you can also use Gecko OS to run Wii Ware Games from SD. AND you don't need these whole NAND procedure and tools crap. Just install WADs with WAD Manager on your Wii, move them in the data management menu to SD and run the Rebooter in the Gecko OS menu. After that you can play the games normally from the official Wii channel SD menu without WAD restrictions and using extra programs like TriiForce. AND you can manage your savegames and Mii's as normal!!!

And you have to install each wad to your wii first, which is slow compared to the methods described in this guide. Also installing each wad, which some people have said, can cause your Wii's nand to wear out faster getting bad blocks, and there's also more chance to brick your wii from issues with the wad installation or from installing a bad wad. So there are decisive advantages to running nand emulation and triiforce afterall.

Anyone got any clues as to why SDHC aren't implemented yet? Would try out this program in an instant if it would support SDHC Btw. since the NAND is emulated, wouldn't that mean increased performance as well? 'Cause the emulated NAND would be on the same storage device as the WiiWares/VC Games (I might've misunderstood something, so correct me if I'm totally off here).

It shouldn't be overly different performance wise considering you would normally run a WiiWare game installed to the real nand on your Wii, which makes the game and the nand on the same device as well. I'm hoping that when the real cIOS rev 15 comes out around Christmas that there may be a change in SDHC support.

Dunno why I didn't think of it that way, but that sounds like a reasonable conclusion Let's hope they add SDHC support then! Just for the record, have you had any confirmed SDHC cards working with Triiforce at all?

I have tried two myself, a 4GB SanDisk and a 16GB Patriot and neither worked. The program loads but it can't find the titles. Hopefully they will find a way to get triiforce to find the titles on an SDHC card (then we will have to hope that those games will play form an SDHC card)
