We are very close to releasing a new version of triiforce (well... modified) that will be able to run exclusively off of a usb device, no SD card needed. Currently, if you run triiforce from a USB nand, you need to have an SD card for storing the config file and game images. Soon, you will not need it for anything.

Cool - does this new build address the crashing from Home/Reset as well?

You need to drop all the images into a directory called triiforce_mrc at the root of your device:

    SD:/triiforce_mrc

    USB:/triiforce_mrc

Depending which is your choice of storage.

As for the crashing issue, that seems to be almost random. I now have games that used to exit by using Wii Menu that will blackscreen now, but they will reset if I use the Reset option. I also have some games that will reset the game when reset is selected and black screen if I choose Wii Menu.

The only other thing I have yet to attempt was to rebuild the entire triiforce_mrc using the latest triiforce code as I think there have been 4 minor revisions since mrc v7 was released. Most of what the new version will handle related to loading games on a per console basis and usb loading functionality like being able to store images on the usb device as well as the config files.

Right now we are just working out a small memory issue (at least I think it is that) that can pop up if you reload consoles too many times in a row, but when we are done, you should be able to use triiforce without an sd card at all.

I thought I just saw something like that on GBAtemp, but they were channels (wads) instead, each for a specific emulator. If not that, I know I just saw something somewhere that eliminated the SD card.

Anyways, thought I'd post up my findings for USB.

    1) only change to this guide to do USB was really step 4-9, you put the NAND folders on you HDD instead of SD.

    2) my drive is ~150gb, partitioned as: #1 70gb WBFS-primary, #2 10gb FAT32-primary-active, #3 70gb NTFS-logical. My wbfs isn't set active, my fat32 partition IS, but both are primary. If either are logical partitions, either triiforce or usb loader won't work.

    3) the NAND I used was the backup I made after completing Dogegg's "3.1-4.1 softmod for any wii" in the FAQ's, didn't strip anything from it (200mb is a drop in the bucket on hdd's); my wii is currently sm 4.1u

    4) the boot.dol file I used was the MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar found somewhere in this thread, I can't recall which post

    5) the forwarder/wad I installed was Triiforce-HTRI3fixed.wad from the 8mb file package in the first post

One thing to note, to make it easier on yourself try doing it all SD-based first. Then try USB, using a primary fat32 partition as the first partition, and set it to active. A thumbdrive works fine for this (SDHC works for USB-only). Then...make it complicated with the multi-partition HDD. Mine works perfectly now with Triiforce and USB Loader GX.

The biggest problem I had - my SD reader started taking a crap when I was ready to put files onto it!! Luckly I managed to get it working for a spell, but the replacement won't be here for 2-3 weeks. A 100% usb version is great news.

Yeah, i have it on usb just like that, and it doesnt work. Didnt sinyk just say they only work on the sd?

edit: to hiprofile i did basically the same thing, except i used the auto usb loader dol found in the first post, works fine.

Apparently, the Multi Console .dol I made works for usb image loading, though I don't remember changing anything to let it do that.

The new version I will be releasing hopefully soon (one stupid bug) will be usb only.

Are you going to add the ISO forwarders from this post, http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtop...post&p=2508878, I would much rather boot WiiWare from USB Loader. I had TriiForce_mrc working, but added some VC and injected wads and it quit working correctly. So now I have to reconvert my WiiWare again. I tried using one of them ISO forwarders but wouldn't work, I'm thinking because my Triiforce isn't working.

No, this new release will require a nand dump and games installed to it using something like showmiiwads, but it will be able to be completely SD free. You will be able to launch from usb, store images on usb and config on usb.
