Get all files that is generated to the nand folder from step 1 in this guide to the root of the USB hard drive. It should look something like this:

USB:\apps\triiforce <- Where you put the TriiForce bol file (download here: MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar)
USB:\tmp <- Generated by step 1
USB:\title <- Generated by step 1
USB:\ticket <- Generated by step 1

USB:\triiforce_mrc <- Where you put the game pictures (download here: triiforce mrc - GBAtemp.net)
USB:\sys <- Generated by step 1
USB:\shared1 <- Generated by step 1
USB:\shared2 <- Generated by step 1
USB:\meta <- Generated by step 1
USB:\import <- Generated by step 1

To make TriiForce MRC load games from a USB hard drive you need to have a FAT32 partition set as ACTIVE. You can only have one partition set as active, so the other partitions on the hard drive will be inactive. Some USB loaders might have a problem with this, but the one I use (USB Loader GX) works with an inactive WBFS partition. This means you can play both Wii backup games with USB Loader GX from the unactive WBFS partition, and play WiiWare and Virtual Console games with TriiForce MRC from the active FAT32 partition.

To get game pictures to load from a USB hard drive I had to use the customized TriiForce MRC console version. You can download this version here: MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar. The other TriiForce MRC versions didn't load pictures from the USB hard drive.
100% agree with this, in fact this should be placed as the second post in this thread, or at least made a must read post!

I just came looking for that exact forwarder myself, now that I did the file renaming as mentioned by Smyers75 above and my Wii now boots back to the menu after exiting a game, it would be great to see that forwarder as a channel option!

Somewii,

I also will take exception to your question about exiting the VC games.
PCR20 is correct in pointing out that this has been asked and answered several times in this very thread.

Insulting people here is not a good way to get help.
Take the time to read through this thread and you will see (as PCR20 said) the answer is here.

As for your comments about Triiforce not reading the wads and extracting the PNGs, the proper place to ask for future version enhancments/suggestions is on the Triiforce Googlecode site.

Thanks Heaps for this. I finally got the games going off of an SD card. Will try for a USB drive later.
Cheers again.

It shouldn’t be too hard to make a forwarder wad for this.

You should be able to use this boot.dol to make one using any channel building tool, like CustomizeMii 2.01

Triiforce_forwarder_boot.rar

I pulled it from the working forwarder used in the ISO’s over at gbatemp that spayrosam made.
See this link for all the fun stuff they are building for Triiforce over there.
Wiiware, VC and Homebrew Forwarder ISO's - GBAtemp.net

The search order it uses is below:

SD:/apps/triiforce/boot.dol
SD:/triiforce/boot.dol
USB:/apps/triiforce/boot.dol
USB:/triiforce/boot.dol

I’m away from my Wii so I can’t test this right now, but it’s something close to what I used on my Console Specific Triiforce MRC ISO’s I use on Wiiflow.

If you want to use this to make a WAD file, TEST IT IN HOMEBREW FIRST!
If it doesn't work for you in homebrew, it's not going to work in a wad.

Buddha your pics are coming up when they are @ USB:\triiforce_mrc?
Mine didn't show up that way, I had to put them back on the sd.

Weird problem here. Triiforce stalls on the start up when it says "Starting USB-NAND emulation" over half the time. I know my drive isn't going into sleep mode or anything because all the other programs work with it fine. I normally have to go into wadmanager and exit it then reopen triiforce and then it will start up fine. It gets really frustrating. Any advice?

Wadmanager has no problem starting the usb drive or using it as emulated Nand for wad installation it's only triiforce that hangs up. Also, it doesn't hang up all the time generally just when I first turn it on.

Also, I keep getting an error that says I'm out of memory and have to restart the wii when saving after playing Ocarina for awhile. This is incredibly irritating as it generally makes you have to redo a lot of stuff. I've searched this thread and I still can't find a solution to changing games/getting back to the system menu without using home/reset :S

They only show up in the customized TriiForce MRC console version. You can download it here: MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar

This one have console selection and no auto loading, and it is the only version I got working with images on USB.

What a great idea!

Looks like marc_max is adding ''Console Select'' to his version also.

Latest news at triiforce mrc - GBAtemp.net
(I still get no love for the comming up with the idea )

The Vertical covers will be another nice addition.

Does anyone have source for the MULTI_CONSOLE_NO_AUTO_v7.rar version?

Reading the original source for marc_max's version 7, it looks like it should have read PNG's from either the SD or USB.

Please refer to the first post of the guide

Does the MULTI CONSOLE NO AUTO version actually load images from a USB nand? Interesting. I don't remember changing anything that should have affected that.
