I am having problems with step 4, part 4. with the showmiiwads program
"4. Go to the tools menu then select Create common.key. (only needs to be done once)"

The tools drop menu is not clickable for me, I did everything step by step and I am viewing the nand and like the author said it has all of the .tik files, but like I said earlier I can't open the tools menu and do the next step.

Edit: Could it be when I first loaded showmiiwads I chose not to allow editing wads?

Edit 2: Nevermind I figured it out, I had to turn on the editing of wads

    Hi guys,
yesterday and today I sorted out quite a few things, probably some of you are interested.
The simple fs dumper 042 only works on the HDD (by using HBC -> press 1 -> switch to usb) if the FAT32 partition (I changed it to be the first) is NOT active (otherwise DSI error). Interestingly the same holds true for the SD I tried (it showns on laptop as active partition = same bloody error). As soon as the FAT32 turns active (in order to work for triiforce), the dump does not work any more. Solution, make a dump first, then set it active
Now further with a minimalistic dump, I get no problem on exiting the game, BUT now it reboots the wii (yes better than black freeze, but anyway, return to home would be nice). Is there a way to change that?
Furthermore I used the wad2nand tool, it works, at least it seems to work, but it causes black freezes as soon as you start the game. Please, use ShowMiiWads, it works like charm, it does the job well!
That's all, if I further can get sorted the problem with the reboot instead of exit the game, I would be happy. Feedback welcome

Thanks I followed the tutorial and everything goes fine..
(but I use simple fs dumper and showmiiwads)
I just have a question that I think that is insert in the FAQ...
WW and VC saves are stored on Hard disk? or wii nand?
I think that ww saves are stored on hard disk but its a bit unconfortable because I can't delete them
    PAL Wii → bootmii b2 → Waninkoko cIOS rev 17 → Hermes cIOS 222/223 v5 → System Menu 4.1 by Waninkoko → Homebrew channel 1.0.6 → Wiikey 1.9b

I am planning to install this triforce to play wiiware/vc game in my wii. However, upon skimming through the threads I'm having reservations it seems there are alot of issues. Please don't get me wrong. I have a few questions to those who have 'successfully' installed it.
    a. Is this as straight forward as softmodding wii guide by dogeggs.
    b. Will it worked on usb hdd and or usb stick? I noticed that mostly it works on sd card although it is mentioned that it works on usb but lots of hiccups. Confusing
    c. Lastly, is it worth installing?
Sorry for my question just want to make sure before I get into it.
    thanks

    a. Followed dogeggs is just the start. This is much easier to install. My preference is to use it off the apps folder as it is less scarry, don't want to play with fowarders..yet
    b. Has issues working off a second partition of your USB hdd <sigh>, but it works fine off USB stick, a single USB HDD and ofcourse a SD card.
    c. They are not full blown Wii games, but wiirare are getting better. I did it for nostalgic reasons...Genesis, Arcade....it's fun. ALSO and more importantly it is brick proof way to install those wads.
ps.If you have wireless v10 downloads ready images for you. The WiiWare ones are cool.

triiforce was meant to work off USB hdd, Sneek is SD as far as I could tell. Will still look into it.
    Also this thread is great.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I tried scanning through the replies but there are just so many. It should be an easy question though. Can I use the nand backup i made when I originally softmodded my wii, or should I do a new nand dump?
