Thanks so much for your help.
Might be a stupid thing but i could not get WBFS to see anything either untill i clicked off format onto load top hand left in WBFS manager then everything that was greyed out became usable

@Simon - As I understand your problem. The games that you have installed from the Wii DVD Drive to your USB HDD work, but not consistently. You are able to use the USB Loader to play the original game disc from the Wii Drive.

When you run USB Loader GX, it should identify the IOS it is using so there should be no confusion on your part-across the bottom of the screen it should read something like IOS249rev14?

Because the games work from the HDD but only intermittently, it would appear that your HDD may not be compatible or not set up correctly. Check the HDD against the compatibility lists provided in this guide. Also, make sure the WBFS-formatted partition is designated as active and primary-it must be the first partition. The USB HDD needs to be plugged into the outermost USB port on your Wii-left or bottom depending on its position.

If HBC only shows an empty bubbling screen, the files are not located correctly for the HBC to see and run.

The structure of a homebrew app is: SD:\Apps\NameofProgram\boot.dol

So, if you have a folder named USBLoaderGXversionXX, that folder should be inside the Apps folder that should be in the Root directory of the SD card. Inside the USBLoaderGXversionXX folder should be a file named boot.dol, rename the .dol file as boot.dol. Now HBC should be OK.

Leo931 - Partition it, have a WBFS partition as Primary and a FAT32 as second partition. Use Easus to partition it without losing your data.

Czarek - Ensure you have Net framework installed, and that you are running the app as an administrator.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
