Computers: Drives & Storage: Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB 2.5" Portable External Hard Drive - Black | Best Buy Canada Web Store

I am just starting to figure all this out. Will I be abale to utilize all the space? or should I go smaller?

    Thanks,

Then it already is active. The option only shows up for inactive partitions.

    Thanks,
I removed your excess text-probably didn't want to quote the entire tutorial, I hope.

Anyway, I have 2 WD 1TB HDDs-one (the backup) has all of the drive as WBFS formatted and the other (the every day use) has about 850GB as WBFS and 2 other partitions are NTFS and FAT32, so your 500GB should be fine if you want all of it for WBFS format. I would really suggest you keep a small partition recognizable by your PC, though. Makes life easier if your PC can access the drive too.

Well, save yourself-don't jump out of the window-throw the stupid blight upon your life out the window.

One of the things that WBFS Manager does not have in it's programming code is a drive integrity check. Not today-maybe Mercury is in retrograde or something is blocking your positive energy today (joke). Another day, when life looks good again-reformat the blasted thing-reformat the whole thing as FAT32. Then run the chkdsk /r command- look that up as I might not have it exactly right-you want to scan the disc and repair and lock out any bad sectors.

THEN, try it all over again. Again, NOT Today.

By back up using USB Loader GX are you saying that you have games on the hard disk that have been both ripped directly from the Wii Drive using the USB Loader GX and also games from an ISO that you used the "Add to Drive" WBFS Manager to add to the HDD WBFS partition? The Wii sees the games, but when you choose the game the message reads "unable to read disc". By the way, I hope your games aren't all the tricky ones like the dual layer and video startup? Do a search to see if your games are ones that need a bit of tweaking.

Install HermesIOS (http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-custom-s...os-v4-out.html). Then try USB Loader and choose IOS 222 instead of 249. if that doesn't work, try a different revision of USB Loader GX or you could try another USB Loader-configurable USB Loader or WiiFlow (light version) would be a good alternative.
