    Two questions.

    1. I get ios 236 not found reloading into ios 36 when using usb loader gx 815 and 850 wads installed to wii menu as channels. After this error usb loader gx plays my games fine but version 815 goes to black screen when I exit to wii menu and 850 doesn't. But I just don't get the ios 236 not found. I just soft modded a wii for a family member. My wii does not succumb to this porblem with usb loader gx 815 installed. I also installed hermes 222/223 and cios 249 rev 14.

    2. Whenever i take out the sd card from my wii and load wiiflow or usb loader gx I get the dsi error occurred error, but when the sd card is int he wii they both run fine from the wii menu channel. Any way to rectify this problem?

My brother has a nice 500gb WD passport portable drive. I however am using a 500gb seagate drive inside of a generic USB case (sata). Now I have both drives and I am testing this on my wii before I touch my bros. I am using the latest version of USB loader gx

So I pop in the new Super Mario Bros game, attach the WD passport drive, rip the game to the drive and the game plays no problem. Then I try the same process on my hard drive (the seagate) and it begins to rip, gets to around 42% or so and then says complete. The game does not play. I just get a black screen.

When I bring both drives to my computer the ISO on the WD drive shows as being 0.36GB where as the ISO on my hard drive shows as being 3.38G.

So why is mine not working and why is my file size so much bigger? Is it just that my USB controller is not compatible? The wii does see the drive so I figured it would work. 2 other drives I had would just cause a black screen when attached to the wii and USB loader was started so I know those don't work but my drive allows me to get into USB loader, and rip a game. I see it on the list and even download the cover art. Any help would be great. Thanks

EDIT: I read a post earlier in this thread that mentioned if you use a desktop hard drive in an enclosure, those drives tend to spin down which will cause problems. Could this be my issue?
not all enclosures are compatible. western digital passports seem to be the best usb drives imo. And yes, NSMB is only 400mb when transfered to a wbfs formatted drive.

WBFS manager can handle 1.5TB too, i've successfully loaded games on to a single partition drive 1.5TB. But USB Loader GX didn't load the drive, it just went to the Wii menu.

1TB can be handled by both without issues.

Problem loading with USB LOADER GX

Ok I'm pretty sure I modded my wii correctly. My version is 4.2u and I am able to start the usb loader gx channel correctly. After it loads I can see the one game that I added to my external drive. I click it, and try to play it but after I do that, nothing happens. I have a black screen on my tv and the only thing i see is video 2 (the video i use to play games). I try to press home button on wii remote, everything I press no response. My wii is still on though, the power button light is still green. I pressed that still no response. The only thing I can do this is to unplug the power to my wii and restart it like that. Can someone please tell me whats going on please. I'm pretty sure I formatted my external drive properly. I formatted my external with WBFS manager and then made it my active drive and primary partition. I didn't delete any partition because the only partition there was to delete was my primary one. I'm a little lost! I do remember one thing though.

For ios223 instead of installing using ios38 merged with 37, I used ios38 only by accident. So I installed using ios38 first and then installed it again using ios38 merged with 37. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Below is the section of messie's guide in which I messed up on. Someone please help me out. Does my SD card have anything to do with it? All I have in my SD card is the apps and wads folder.

D5) You can now install ios202, ios222, ios223. From HBC, run cios222 installer and select ios249 to use. At the next screen, choose the following, one at each turn:
-ios202, for usb - using ios38 (needed for USB2.0 support at Media Players)
-ios222, for uloader - using ios38 (needed for USB support of instruments and stuff)
-ios223 mainly for GH5 - using ios38 merged with 37 (same as above)

Check that tutorial as there's a way to get it working with the alt DOL from a burnt disk, then watch the motion+ movie and restart then change DOL to default.

I'd say try another game 1st to be sure you'r softmod and ISB loader all went fine.

A game that has no known issues like Sport Resort has.
