Just a quick question. Since I have neogamma loaded and working on my 4.0U (just modded it last week), can I use neogamma to play the games on the hard drive?

I'm about to try some harddrives and I want to see if there's any difference or preference to loading hard drive games with Neogamma vs usb loader.

    Thanks for all the expertise!

    Psii

Yes, NeoGamma can be used to load games from the HDD. The limited menu list options for the games on the HDD will be limiting for you when you compare with USB Loaders.

    Exclamation Black Screen

Hi, the name's Cyris, and i'm new to the whole soft-modding/hacking the Wii. I'm currently running Wii 4.2U and i've followed Messie's guide to install the homebrew channel as well as NeoGamma and USB Loader Gx. The installation went without a hitch. Except i did have to exterminate the evil-stub249, otherwise the entire installation went perfectly. The problem i am having is that whenever i try to load USB Loader Gx all i get is a black screen. NeoGamma will sometimes try to "mount" the HDD that i'm using, but it fails after 30 tries or it will flash quickly but then nothing happens at all (no tries).

I've downloaded WBFS manager 3.0 and i have a Toshiba 640GB HDD. I've formatted the entire HDD to WBFS using gen3sf's guide. Afterwards i placed the game on to the drive using WBFS and was told that the transfer was successful.

I've tried searching google, this forum, for any solutions to the black screen and the best i've been able to find is that i need to download the correct ISO to play certain games. The game i'm trying to run now is Super Mario Galaxy, and i know i need ISO33 in order to play it, which i have installed along with IOS30,31,32,38,55 and maybe some others. At one point i decided that i would just find as many IOS's as i could and install them just to make sure, obviously that didn't work. Still the same problems exist. I'm getting pretty desperate at this point and a little frustrated.

It's best not to install IOS indiscriminately. If you'd installed IOS70 you could have very well bricked your Wii.

A black screen on loading USB GX is not due to your IOS, this type of failure is normally down to your cIOS, probably your IOS249. You might want to verify your cIOS installation.

Run signcheck signCheck - WiiBrew and post the resultant text from the signcheck.csv file it creates when you run it.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
