I have been using USB Loader GX and it has been working perfectly. From what I understand Wiiflow works just as well but is "prettier".

They are all pretty much on par, it just boils down to personal preference.

In regards to the usb loader question..

The best loader for me is USB Loader GX because of the user-friendly ripping from disk option and easy downloadable covers and bells and whistles...

NeoGamma also does the trick and is stable AND most importantly new versions keep coming out so you can always update.

To use a theme with USB Loader GX, you have to copy the theme folder to your SD and set the path to the folder in the USB Loader's settings
    Example: SD://usb-loader/themes/Blackwhite/

Can I launch Games from Channels instead of Loader

The USB Loader works great but I'm curious if there's a way to have the game cover shown in the Channels and launch from there rather than going into the Loader menu?

    Thanks...

This is a great tutorial. I just have one question. Why the cover image of a game can be shown in WBFS Manager, but not in usb loader gx? Do I have to manually copy the cover image to somewhere? Thanks.

wbfs manager gets it's cover images from somewhere other than where usbloader gx gets them. you CAN go into usbloader gx's option page and have it download the missing covers for your games

I managed to softmod my 4.2E Wii the other day and have also been following this guide to load ISOs from my Seagate FreeAgent 320GB Desktop hard drive. However, it is a bit funny when it comes to USB Loader GX:

    1) if I plug the HDD as normal (in the bottom USB slot as instructed) and boot up my Wi, the USB Loader GX fails to find the HDD, and then I get that 30 second slow message thing
    2) if I connect the HDD's USB cable to the Wii, but don't plug in the power yet, and then boot up my Wii, and THEN plug in the power once I'm in USB Loader GX, it finds the HDD. But when I try to press A to access a selected game, it crashes
    3) if I load up NeoGamma first and use it to mount my WBFS HDD, and then exit NeoGamma, I am then able to have USB Loader GX detect my HDD and it plays fine.

Or, I can just mount and play with NeoGamma as it has no problems detecting my HDD. I think I'll just stick with NeoGamma for now as it just works first time and I'm not too bothered with the more nice looking interface of USB Loader GX.

I hope this helps anyone who might be having similar problems.

Can't load USB GX when images are displayed in GRID

Hi there. I have 88 games in my HD. If I don't have any game covers in the "images" folder, then it is fine in anyway I want the games to be displayed. But if I put the cover and the disc images in and choose them to be displayed in GRID, then my Wii got stuck with the black screen and the details below. It is fine if I have the games displayed in other ways (my Wii got stuck once when I displayed the games in LIST, too). Please help!

I've seen that problem with usbloader gx as well, if you disconnect and reconnect your drive when you get the 30sec timeout, it'll be detected. But I got tired of that and went with cfgloader and have never been happier
