    hmmm,

just want to ask you guys , i already got the CFG usb loader ,was following maifrogs guide ,

since my USB HDD is FAT32 , can I just copy my SD card files directly to my HDD? and remove the SD card from the Wii?

the reason for this is i would like to have my covers for my games;hmmmm , a bit troublesome to copy the covers in my SD card .

any guide to do this?no need to partition the HDD , i tried to copy the fles in the root of the HDD but ,it goes blank/black screen , so i just put the SD card back .

    pls help bros

I have to say: if someone had said to me "read the guide again" I would have probably been irritated. So, I'm actually quite glad no-one responded to my posts! It forced me to read the guides out of necessity, without any ill-will!

That said, I don't mind sharing my newfound knowledge!

Think about it. You're loading a USB bootloader. How could you load it off the USB drive without first loading the USB bootloader? You can move your games ontot eh USB drive, but the loader must be on the SD card. You will need to configure the loader to look on the USB drive for the games. Look through the menu options. It's very intuitive...

...even for a complete noob like me!

Yes you can store all of your homebrew apps ,and covers as well, on the hdd and not need an sd card in at all. The drives has to be fat32, or at least have a fat32 partition, to work.

Uh? How? That's not the understanding I gleaned from other forum users.

What threx666 proposes is my ideal scenario, but Where do you load the USB loader from? Initially, I (thought) I installed the USB loader as a channel, but I discovered that it was just a forwarder to the loader which was on the SD card.

    Original Wii games to HDD

I was trying to transfer all my original wii games to the HDD using USD loader GX. It all went well with the downloading but will get stuck at 0.06GB or slows down to 0.2mb. What seems to be the problem? Do I need to use another method to burn original wii games to the HDD?

The forwarder should look to the hdd as well as sd. Just make sure the file structure is the same and that your hdd is set up correctly. In hbc you can select to load app from sd or hdd by pressing 1 ( i think it's 1).

Sometime the discs are worn and greatly slows down the process. Sometimes another loader will work faster too. I love to use GX but have found that CFG rips more gooder. (that's for Blu, since I gave cfg props, had to quote Blu too!)

Some of the original games are hardly being played but it gave the same result. I have actually tried it on CFG. Surprisingly, same result. It all slows down at exactly the same size. I tried using WBFS and rip from PC to HDD. WBFS won't discover the original games. Why is that?

I stand absolutely corrected! I formatted my NTFS drive as FAT32. My \wbfs directory and CFG and homebrew all working perfectly now without the SD card at all. (So I freed that up for use in the camera I got my wife for Christmas!!)

    Thank you!

I want to use USB Loader GX but I've got one game in .ciso format that's NTSC and I'm not sure if I need to convert it to PAL first.

Wii Backup Manager lets me load the .ciso and change the Region (if I enable Allow permanent changes to Wii disc header in Settings - Titles). Will this be sufficient or is there something else I need to do?

Not sure why you don't just rip the disc yourself and use the settings In gx to play the out of region game.
