Black screen with USBloader and Neo gammer

I haven't played my wii for a while but i'm getting a black screen with USBloader and neo gammer when i start them so they must be having a problem reading from my usb hdd. The drive was fine loading wfbs games on it but not when being read from the wii.

Am I missing something? an update?

    thanks

(is it possible that something has reset in my wii? because it's been in standby for a while?)

@johnmerrick- if I understand you correctly, you were previously able to play your game backups from the USB HDD using either USB Loader GX or NeoGamma. Now, after sitting unused, but in the standby mode, for some time, the HDD is not accessible by either loader.

Sounds like your Wii may have been updated while in standby. Check the system menu version to see if that happened to your Wii. If so, the update overwrote your softmod and you will need to re-softmod your Wii.

    thanks for the reply.

I will have a look later.

When i say standby it's with the red light on and not the orange light.

I did notice that the priiloader was still there when i rebooted the other day. Whether that makes a difference or not i don't know!

What system menu version will confirm that the wii has been updated?

Red light is not standby, orange is standby where Internet communication would be possible. Just the same, something changed with your Wii-if it was updated, the current system menu is 4.3. I presume you made sure the USB HDD is plugged into the correct port and powered up, etc. You might want to do a search here and either run a system check or just update your softmod in the expectation that something odd happened without your knowledge. Normally, just sitting there would not cause a software modification to erode/change/etc. There is a softmod guide on this site that addresses updating a previously softmodded Wii.

Fixed. My hdd wasn't booting up properly so i had to unplug it and plug it back in after checking it on my laptop.

My system menu is 4.2E so this has helped me with any future errors. thanks for your help.

Hi there. There was said that you can backup an org iso from disc to HDD in a minute or so and some say 2 to 3 mins. I have backed up a HDD and it took 13 hours for my 282 org discs. Is there a faster method or any tweaks for WBFS3.0 to make this faster? I have killed all processes possible and turned off the antivirus too. Any ideas to do this any quicker. Apart from a hardware copier of course but I donīt think they recognize the format, do they?

    Hello.

I am having trouble with USB Loader GX. For some reason, it does not appear to recognize my USB HDD. I will connect the HDD to my Wii, then choose USB Loader GX from the Homebrew Channel, and it'll give me the following screens. (I apologize if the pictures are a bit crude)

Firstly, I will get a screen like this:

After that, it will bring up a screen like this:

And then finally I get a screen like this:

No matter what I seem to do, it just doesn't read the HDD.

My Wii is indeed softmodded just fine. I am using a Western Digital My Passport essential 500gb HDD. I connect it to the bottom usb port on the Wii. I've followed all the steps as instructed in this guide to prepare the HDD. I have no idea and hopefully if someone else has had this problem before they were able to fix it. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

What version of GX are u using? That doesn't look like v2.0.

Follow the guide in my Sig for GX.

Ok, that means you don't have v2.0 because it doesn't look updated.

Follow the GX guide in my Sig and get v2.0.
