    My problem:

When I run HBC and USB loader GX from the fat32 part on my usb disk, everything works - except that there are no covers or disk images and when trying to download an install them i get the following error:

    Error!
    Can't create directory

then you can click OK to that - 3 times.

I've searched for the error, but cant find the solution.

    Thanks,

    Let me answer that myself:

    I had two problems:

    1. When you move from sdcard to usb disk, you have to change the paths in "settings" for usb loader...
    2. When you move from sdcard to usb disk, the folder and files might get the "read only" attibute. Remove that attribute.

    Now it works as expected

    50+ Posts and Counting

Ok I've read through the first 50 posts of this one and NSMB. I haven't seen my error yet and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I'm trying to play NSMB I have my 16gb USB drive formatted with WBFS manager. I can see the games on the USB but they won't load. Punch Out does nothing. NSMB says, "WBFS error: trying to close wbfs while discs still open" I haven't seen anyone else with that error. I am running NeoGamma R8 RC1, IOS249(Rev 17) which from what I understand proves that I have cIOS249 installed on my Wii. I've tried running WiiFlow and it just gives a black screen. I'm not really sure what I"m doing wrong or what I'm missing. I will continue to read the next 200 pages of posts but in the meantime I'm hoping someone has seen this before or can point me in the right direction. Thanks in Advanced.

Did you already check the compatibility lists to ensure your 16GB Flash Drive is known to be compatible?

No one has reported this same error problem in this thread to the best of my recall. Error messages are not always definitive, but yours suggest a problem using the USB drive.

BE AWARE, NEW DRIVES HAVE HIDDEN VCD THAT CANNOT BE DELETED CAUSING THE DRIVE NOT TO WORK WITH USBLOADER.
Says this in the compatibility guide (about the 320GB).
    Damn I suck!!!!

That's not correct. When I saw that the new 1TB WD Passport was giving a problem, I surmised that the bloatware and VCD partition was probably causing the incompatibility and timing issues. I bought several, and have them working. There are directions on the Western Digital site for removal of the virtual CD partition; I was able to remove the partition myself by performing a low-level re-format but also did so successfully following their website directions. It is also important to remove the new bloatware.

I am having major troubles... and I am about to pull my hair out.

I already checked my model # to see if it was a compatible hard drive.... and it is. it is a western digital my passport 250 GB hard drive.

Okay so my hard drive was "for a mac" meaning it just came out of the box formatted for mac. So I went on Windows and deleted the partition and set up new ones without formatting and what not.

First off, I cant even get the damn hard drive to show up in Windows. In disk management it comes up as a blank letter, nothing is there. I tried assigning a letter to the drive, and formatting it to WBFS and it says that it successfully did it, but when I plug it into a Wii it says there is no WBFS partition..

Also I can not delete the partition anymore, and I have a 5.47 GB unallocated part of the hard drive that I can not even touch. I am so lost now what tp do because deleting the partition does not even work, and when I try to make it acive I get errors and cannot create new ones and I am flustered.

Google "EASEUS Partition Master". Download the home addition (it's free) and see if it helps you.
