Hello. I have used this guide to play my backups from a USB and it works wonders.

My question is can I in any way put vc games on the USB ? got FF2 (ff 4) and want to play it from USB.

    Wii version 4.2

IDK if sNEEK or TriForce run only from SD card or not (I haven't ever tried it as yet), but it'd most certainly have to be FAT32 if so.

First, as you report copying the wad into the Wad folder-did you open the Wad folder from within Wad Manager? From the Wad Manager menu-select the line with the word "WAD" and it will open and display any wads inside that Wad folder.

If you need to redownload the USB Loader GX wad file, go HERE and first try rev 938 if it does not run well on your Wii, try rev 921.

Look in the Optional section of this guide and you will see this:

    "WiiWare/Virtual Console Games

Play WiiWare/Virtual Console games from the FAT32 partition of the Wii HDD:

1A. Triiforce is a homebrew application that allows WiiWare to load and run from an emulated NAND backup of your Wii. The Triiforce guide by Sinyk is HERE.

1B. WiiWare/VC can also be run using SNEEK (will run from USB, but SD card is required) or UNEEK (preferred). The Cile's tutorial for both SNEEK and UNEEK is HERE.

1C. Play WiiWare/VC using ISO forwarders. Follow emuhack's guide HERE."

    Good luck.

Normally, Wad Manager should default to IOS249. Did you install IOS249 during your softmod? IOS249 would have been installed using cIOS38rev17. If not, I believe you still would have Trucha patched IOS36 and should be able to use Wad Manager with that IOS.

If you are on cIOS X rev 19, only base 38 is compatible with Wad Manager 1.5. If you are using cIOS X, use Wad Manager 1.7 instead.

Many thanks for your awesoem guide really helped me out

All out there i should also add that

In terms of Monster Hunter 3 Tri, you need to also load Hermes cIOS 222 v4 (do a search) - you can install multiple IOS with no problems, i believe at the moment it is recommend IOS 222 37 merged with 38 is the best idea.

Once its installed you can use USB Loader to select which IOS to load with, game settings, that will sort you all out

Hope my mini advice helps as i couldn't find anything about it myself!
