Thanks mate for the prompt reply.....I am not too worried about the cover art at this point. Everything runs well for me from the USB HDD and I just want to be able to rip the games and store it in the USB HDD (do way with disc itself that becomes a nuisance). Will install r938 and keep you posted. cheers

I know I have before. I'll try it again.

I just tried hermes 222 v4 and it didn't work.

Edit: Ok...so I found an old nand backup on my external. I made a nand backup previous to installing wiimc, but that file is on my laptop and the charger died.

Anyways, the nand loaded successfully but now when I load up usb loader gx shows a couple of game covers and pauses, then kicks me out. No code dump, the bottom 1/4 of the screen gets blurred and scrambled and I'm back at HBC.

Edit 2: So I loaded my old nand backup again and then tried from the beginning. I used this We Hack Wii / USB Loader and it still won't work! This is driving me nuts.

    Cile...r938 worked like a charm!!
When I rip the games and scrub is with WBFS manager, am I still vulnerable for an update from the iso file? I do have Priloader installed, but with options blocking online updates and disc updates. Nothing on USB HDD? Thanks again

I have a 150G HHD that is not on the compatible list. I had this one already, so it is the one I have to work with. For some reason I cannot seem to format is to WBFS. The WBFS just tells me that there was an error and cannot format it. Could it because I can only format it NTFS? The weird part is that I plugged the HHD to my Wii and ran USBLoader GX, and it claimed to have formatted it. I even installed games on it! The problem is that I cannot manage the HHD with my computer. It keeps saying that the HHD is not formatted and wanting to format it. I just jumped into the whole USB loading scene, so far I was doing regular softmodding. Any help is always appreciated!

Usb loader gx works with different formats now. Are you certain it formatted it to wbfs? I haven't tried any of the newer versions, but I know it can use fat32. Can you see the drive in your computer/disk management?

As far as I can tell, it is not formatted to wbfs. I am not even sure it is formatted at all, because when I plug it to the PC, it says, "You need to format the disk in drive W: before you can use it."

I followed the guide up to the part where the wbfs manager would format my HHD, I was unsuccessful after several attempts (it kept giving a generic error: "An error ocurred while attempting to format the drive"), so I thought maybe the loader would format it. I plugged the HHD to the wii, and then ran GX. It told me it would need to format the HHD to be able to use, and I said yes. I began downloading my games into the HHD drive afterwards. However, I had a couple of ISOs on my pc that I wanted to install on the HDD, and that is when I realized I had a problem. What should I do?

What does the pc tell you now (since you used the wii to format it) when you try to plug it in or access it?

It says, "You need to format the disk in drive (W before you can use it." It won't let me see the files in there or anything at all. It blocks my every attempt to interact with the HHD.

i can't boot usb loader gx with a forwarder or through any usb drive at all. It only works with a sd card (Booting from homebrew channel from the sd). When not this appear (no wbfs or fat/ntfs partition found), and when i choose, black screen (exception DSI). Where did i go wrong?
There's nothing wrong with the softmod, cfg usbloader works flawlessly (booting with ios 222v4), and i guess there's nothing wrong with the flash drive, as i'm able to rip from original to it, and also play any game, just can't boot usbloader from it. (nor homebrew channel or forwarder)

I'm using a fat partition and the forwarder found on this guide. ios249 rev17 ios222/223 v4. Also, in anytitle deleter v6 with the latest database the forwarder channel appear only as a code. If this help in anything. I've tried unnistallingt it with wad manager and reinstalling but no sucess, things remain the same.
