I have successfully got the files on my sd card for the usbloader gx and wads. The guide does not say how to install them on the wii. I assume the wads are done the same way as the wads for the softmod in the wad manager but what about the usbloadergx file, how di i transfer it. is it better to usae the forwarder or channel. I am very ne at this an whichever will result in less probs down the road would be better for me.

Yes it is installed the same way as the WADS in the softmod guide. Using wadmanager. The difference between the forwarder and Full Channel -- With the full channel you can use USB GX without your SD card in. With the forwarder channel you always need the SD card in the Wii when using it. Either will work fine. The forwarder takes up less space on the NAND then the full channel.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Hope you weren't planning to PM staff-make sure and read the rules and also note the warning text in RED under all the staff usernames.

Slow down and read through this guide again as several of your questions are answered in the guide. As examples: at the end of the this guide is a link to WiiFlow; under Preparation is information on the wads and apps folders; and last:
"3) Copy the folders named codes, config, images, and txtcodes unchanged to the Root directory of your SD card. Note that the images folders are where you will store game cover art."

It may not have all sunk in yet, but applications in the boot.dol file format all go in named folders placed in the Apps folder and are run under the HBC menu. Wad versions of applications are installed as channels. A number of applications have both a channel version and a HBC menu version. You choose whether you want the app to show as a channel using more Wii system memory or to use the boot.dol file and run from either the Apps folder in an SD card or Apps folder on the FAT32 partition of your USB device.

Please take some time and read the guides and use the Search function. There is also a Search within a thread function that will save time when you are within the correct thread.

Regarding the formatting of the HDD... I have one available to put games on, but it's already used (as in, still has files on it, etc.), and so just to clarify, I can partition it with my current files intact? I'm a bit paranoid, so I do apologize if you've covered this already.

No you can't. Backup your files BEFORE partitioning or formatting.

Simple Rule : If in doubt - - Backup your files.....you can ALWAYS get them back if you back them up. If you don't then there is a very small chance of recovering them (In my experience).
