When I load USBloaderGX on my wii, it says that I only have 0.2 gb free and if I do try to look around in the menu and so on in USBloader it sometimes randomly crash, showing a black sreen with a lot of white text (mostly numbers) and at the same time makes a wierd noise that I don't think are healty for my wii... I then reset the wii and everything is back to normal..

    I use a Western Digital 1TB HDD - WD10000H1cs - 00 which should work.
softmod my 4.2 wii - Does work (neogamma and other works)
your guide, formatting the HDD and so on..
Still runs the things from the SD which is ofc plugged in.

Any idea why it says I only got 0.2gb and why it randomly crash ?

    Thanks

@Ramong - if you are using the revision of USB Loader GX linked in this guide, the configuration file may have gotten corrupted. Go into the configuration folder on the SD card and delete that file. It will be re-created when you run USB Loader GX again. If you are using a more recent revision, such as 929-try an earlier revision such as 919, 916 or 899.

1st thanks again for all the help anyone could ever need hackin wii's.
However I am having a prob. ... I was using the "update your old softmod" tut. and I did not realize I wasn't supposed to run preloader on 3.2 (I was rushing) so I did
could only load preloader....SM was corrupted

Found a guide to let me reinstall Hackmii programs like HBC,dvdx ... etc again
All is up and good except now I get BAD results from my HDD laoders
They either dont load at all or freeze up during loads between screens a few minutes in to the games

I had previously partitioned the HDD with the WBFS up front and checked that the hp smartsave was compatable w/ the wii and all was well before I did the updates.
I am kinda new @ this and have done 4 successfully but seem to have F'ed up my own now trying to update it...LLS

BTW it plays games on disc thru neogamma NP.... my daughters been playing SMG2 for hours on DVDR no problem

Thanks again all and Im Lovin this whole scene
Does NeoGamma load and play your games on the USB HDD? This is important to check because NeoGamma uses a different code to access the USB HDD. If neither USB Loaders or NeoGamma can access your HDD, that tells you that something is off with that HDD.

Yes, as described in this guide, one most certainly should be able to install a copy of one's own original games onto the USB HDD using USB Loader GX. There was run of bad revisions starting at 929 and I'm still waiting for a new recent stable revision to emerge. For now, revisions 919 and 916 are the stable and compatible revisions for most Wiis.

    hey there you crazy cats.

first and foremost, thankyou very much for allowing me to safely back-up my precious discs, and play them from an alternative medium.... its very helpful for preserving the integrity of my original gaming discs.

secondly, regarding the above. I have installed USBloader GX and Uloader onto my Black Wii. I pretty mush followed messies guide, and have had great success to date. there are however a few games that aren't launching. I'm sure you kids know about this by now, as you're all kinda "fingers on the pulse" type people.

the games i have tried and have been met with failure are (so far) samurai warriors 3, SSB2, Ghostbusters. The back-ups seem to launch with no problem, but due to the anti=piracy software that has been built in (i presume) they reach a certain point and tell me i have a disc read error.... obviously.... there is no disc, of course there is an error. Since the black wii will not take DVDr, is there a way around this yet?

don't murder me if there is.... i know how some of you trolls get your kicks.

    thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that, loading and playing from an external USB device is usually faster than the original disc. If your hard drive is fully compatible, there should not be any lag, especially with an older game as Mario Kart. The fault may be the hard drive is not fully compatible, also check your connections to make sure they are all firmly seated-remember the USB HDD is to be plugged into the outermost port (bottom or left depending on the position of the Wii console).

There are no reported plans to address the 500 file limitation of WBFS Manager. I have seen this question pop up periodically in the WBFS Manager Forum and have seen no positive response to this question/request.

Well, I'm not too thrilled about being called a troll for no reason. If you spent anytime in this thread, I would hope that my general demeanor of courtesy would be evident. This thread is focused on support of the guide and not to address specific problem games. Try this guide HERE for your issues. Good luck with your games.

@Ramong - before uninstalling your current revision, I suggest you first find a rev that works. So....do not install your new revisions using Wad Manager, just copy the folder with the boot.dol file in it into the Apps folder on the root directory of your SD card. Go the the HBC menu and run Usb Loader Gx. When you find a rev that works, you may use Wad Mgr to both uninstall the old nonworking rev and install the rev that works for you.
