Many thanks, this site and the people here are most informative and helpfull. I do however have a question I hope you can help me with.
I have a Medion Drive n go 500mb HDD the cable of which requires 2 USB ports, is there any way of running this through a 4port USB hub on the WII to enable me to use microphones for my singing backups?
    Many thanks

Sorry, the Wii and the apps that hack the USB ports do not play well with USB hubs. I wish they did as I too would like to use a hub on my Wii. However, you should be able to at least use that HDD with the data cable plugged into the outermost Wii USB port thus freeing the other USB for you to use your glorious voice. Try using one of those USB charger devices-one end plugs into a wall outlet and the other end accepts the USB cable to power and charge it- they came out along with the iPOD. That should power your HDD w/o using the Wii's other USB port through which you will use the microphone.

can you make multiple wbfs partitions and have them still be read? Id like to make a "future" partition in case i ever need the space, but that would mean i would have 2 different wbfs partitions on the drive

That, unfortunately, does not have a straightforward answer. There have been a few reported successes with having 2 WBFS-partitions able to be recognized by the USB loader-no switching in mid-session though most reports are of failure with trying 2 WBFS partitions. I'm sorry but I don't have a big enough database of reported experience to tease out the data on how and why it has worked on the few reported successes. I

I would suggest you give it a try early on so that it won't be too hard to reformat the drive back to the way you need to have it. I would definitely suggest your trial include NeoGamma and at least 3 USB loaders where one loader is uLoader, USB Loader GX and one more of your choosing. Best of luck and please post back with your results.

    Greetings,

I'm using Win7 x64 and have a PNY Attache 4G. I have gone to disk management with elevated privileges and it's not allowing me to delete the partition. I'm able to finally delete it using diskpart, but then WBFS Manager isn't able to format it.

I've checked various drives and this seems to be a consistent problem. The only USB device that seems to allow it would be an external drive I use to backup my PC.

Is this a known issue with flash drives and Windows 7 . . . or is it just my drives?

Did you see your specific USB flash drives on either of the USB device compatibilty lists? Links to both our own USB device list and to one on gbatemp are provided in this guide.

The compatibility guide here says the PNY Attache is supported . . . though I'm not sure if they've had revisions or not . . .

eh, i guess i'll just allocate enough space the first time. How much do most people use? This drive is switched between the wii and a media player. I'm thinking 400gigs for wii and 600 gigs for movies. Right now my wbfs partition is 150 gigs and its filling quick but i think with 400, if it ever does fill up, 2/3 of the games wont be being played so i can always delete stuff to make room. or buy another drive later
