hi, perhaps it is a stupid question, does it matter if i use a lexar hc sd card or do i need a normal sd card? i saw messies guide which says the need to do a back up of NAND but it is not on this guide, is it essential to do that NAND back up thing?
one more question, i am having a UAE wii set, so which hacks.ini should i use?
thanks for your help in advance

Step 7 - Installing Priiloader (Brick Protection and System Hacks)
a) Before continuing, you'll need the hacks.ini file for your region, go here and copy and paste the codes in the box for your 4.2 region into notepad and save it as "hacks.ini". Move the hacks.ini file onto the root.
b) Load Homebrew Channel and run Priiloader v0.3 or v0.2 installer.
c) Press + on the wiimote to install.
At this point I have had a problem. What happened was priiloader v0.3 started doing its thing had an error, then displayed a memory dump on the screen and crashed.
I had to restart the system. Now when I go into priiloader and press + I get these messages:
logged in as "su"
unable to read buffer, aborting mission......
I have tried v0.2 and get the same response, also tried pressing - to uninstall priiloader and tried ios249 as well.
Thankfully the system still works!
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to say thanks for the great guide, had looked at others for the 4.2 from other sites but having done the 3.1 - 4.1 from this site a few times thought i would follow the guide from this site as there seems good support on here if you run into trouble.
It was a toss up between this guide and messie's but thought this one looked more straight forward, the only thing i can say about is that some of the steps are worded incorrectly but isnt to hard to work out what is meant by them.
And the only real area that i ran into trouble was step 7 the priiloader as few people have been, when i first tried to install v0.3 it gave me a few erros stack dump and whatever so installed v0.2 instead but it kept booting to priiloader when the machine started even though i know how to change the settings in there to load to system menu. In the end i just installed v0.3 over the top of it and had no errors this time and all is working fine now.

Awesome tutorial, i used another one yesterday and the damn wii couldnīt launch usb loader, only a black screen, and today with this tutorial in a matter of minutes managed to get it all done, and test one and only one game (i only have one, but 1 in 1, looks promising), big thanks

Step 2 - Restoring The Bug Into IOS36
a) Load and Homebrew Channel and run DOP-IOS MOD, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad then A on the wiimote. You should now be in the trucha bug restorer portion of DOP-IOS MOD. Load IOS36 and select Downgrade IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Load From NUS'
Make sure you get no errors. If Loading IOS36 doesn't work for this step, press B for no IOS reload when asked to load IOS.
b) Run DOP-IOS MOD again, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad and press A. Load IOS15 and choose IOS36 Menu. Make sure to install the patched IOS36 with all these patches selected:
Install IOS to slot (36)
Hash Check (trucha) Yes
NAND Permissions Yes
Then Press A on Install Patched IOS36. Again, everytime it asks, choose 'Load from NUS'
c) Re-run DOP-IOS MOD one more time, on the IOS Selection screen, press down on the d-pad and then A on the wiimote. Press B for 'No IOS Reload' and select Restore IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Load from NUS'
Once done, return to homebrew channel and continue the tutorial"
I did it Messie way initially but when installing priiloader I don't see the hacker screen. Was going to do it all over again so that priiloader would work but what is step 2 for?

What exactly is the purpose of installing the patched IOS60 wad? Isn't the patched IOS70 one the only one needed?
