ShadowSonic2 I just get 8 hours working on my wii and I haven't play not even one homebrew g I'm tired and hungry, but well this is the problem (I hope that you could understand that I dont actually speak English and is also very difficult to write in a right sense sentence) I just buy this wii for my daughter it was a 4.0u and the serial start with LU3947 and I didn't know anything about softmods, so when I connected the wii to internet I did upgrade it to 4.2u I didn't know that, that was a pretty bad move, but a friend told me about softmod's and, well I still working on it the deal is that I did everything on your tutorial (which is better than the other tutorial in this website) and the wii doesn't play my games, Im using memorex dvd-r, I did burn the games pretty slow at 4X the first and 3X the second but no one worked I get a message that says: DVD Read Error (1053). And then everything from the other tutorial (which is very nice too) about usb loader, I did load two games in a hard drive which is internal and with a device it becomes usb, but only one game was shown at Neogamma and, well I was very happy when the game actually worked, but not for long, it did start prety nice disny splash screnn selection of new game or load and selection of dificulty and the game start to load but it never finish it just keep going and going, Ok that could be the iso file that was corrupted, so I am catching an other file.
well to finish this post I would like to know a couple of thing if is there a solution? I don't want to give up so easy Or do I have to start over? it is possible to start over? can i play emulator in homebrew channel while this get fix? It is possible to fix this? should I buy a brand new rope and hang my self?. Well I have many other questions but I'm to tired to thing.
If you can take a look of this and answer this crazy writted post, my daughter and me will be grateful, and also you will be our hero for ever and ever.

Seems you may have a D3-2 Drive which prevents DVDR Backups from being loaded. USB Loader would be your only alternative. As for the freezing, it could be an incapable hard drive or a bad iso. Check the capability in our tutorial section, reformat the device to WBFS and re-install the iso.

Thank you ShadowSonic2 for this easy as hell guide!

Our kid updates his left and right so I havent done any modding on his yet.
Hes been at his grandmothers house for christmas vacation so I decided to give it a go today and install the old Sonic Genesis games and the NES Mario Bros games..

For the most part everything went quick and painless...

Dop-IOS was very iffy.. It worked for the first step to downgrade IOS15 but then would just error out moving on. Ended up just using the Trucha Bug Restorer instead to do the IOS36 Menu and restore IOS15. TBR gave no problems whatsoever.. I did use Dop-IOS for all the other patching though for 53/55/70 and it worked fine..
AnyTitleDeleter went without a hitch too!

Since Im still skeptical of the new and 'improved brick machine' Priiloader, I just substituted Preloader 0.29 (the JODI mod) and then put 0.30 right on top.

    Installing Sonic 3 now.

The kids Wii is a couple years old, so I got to actually install BootMii as Boot2 (mine was made this year his is an LU57).. I was freaking out for a sec trying to figure out how to launch BootMii to backup the NAND cause I always do it on mine from the HBC.. Was cool putting the sdcard in and seeing BootMii come right up hehe..

Anyways great guide! Easy as hell to follow, works perfect!!
Now I have to figure out how to get my damn SDCard out. Kid dropped it last year and broke the faceplate. One of the screws that holds it in just flat out snapped off the case, while its still being held on by the other one, so its a little crooked and my cards stuck!

    Aaargh I spoke too soon!!

Apparently Preloader is a no go on here.
Installed and everything ok but when I boot now I get the "Error autobooting system menu! ES_DiVerfiy failed!" message and have to reinstall System Menu 4.2 using Dop-IOS..

Made sure I patched IOS70 with both Dop-IOS MOD and the TBR included in the pack but getting the same results no matter what.
If I leave Preloader 0.29 on I get the good old 'System files corrupted' message. Upgrading to 0.30 just boots to Preloader with the autobooting error message.

Just found another thread elsewhere so Im taking it there since the actual Homebrew install from this guide went PERFECT!!

Full Brick? 4.2E with Preloader, System Menu IOS set to 0

Heres a quick edit.. I fixed it already.. I reinstalled Sys Menu 4.2 again using Dop-IOS (from BootMii->HBC)..
Now this time, instead of relying on Dop-IOS or TBR to patch IOS70, I installed the already patched version of it from Messie's 4.2 guide ('IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad'). Installed with WAD Manager..
Reinstalled Preloader 030r4 and now its all working fine. Got Preloader and BootMii as boot2 AND I can boot up my kids Wii again..

    Thanks so much!

I am sooo close..I am getting an error when installing ios60patched

    Installing ticket....error! (ret=-1)

I tried copying the files off the SD card, formatting the card, and putting them back on....still doesn't work...should I download Wadmanger V1.5?

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! THANKS AGAIN!

UPDATE: I put wad manager v1.5 in the apps folder and changed the file name to boot.dol and then tried it....no luck, same error. Anyone know what's wrong? Do I need to re-do something?

    Thanks!

Step 5 - Install and Patch A Few More IOS

    a) Load up homebrew, then load up DOP-IOS MOD. Load IOS36 or IOS249, browse for the IOS, Navigate to IOS53, press A to install and say yes for Sig Hash Check (Trucha Bug). Do the same for IOS55. Next press home to return to homebrew channel.

    b) Load up homebrew channel once more, then load up WAD Manager. Load IOS249, navigate to the wad folder, highlight IOS60patched.wad and press A. Make sure action is set to install and Install the wad. After a successful install, Press Home to go back to homebrew channel. Do the same for IOS70patched.wad. Make Sure the action is Set to INSTALL!
