Hello, I am up to step 7c, and when I click system menu hacks, it says it could not find the hacks file. Before installing the priiloader, I did download the hacks.ini file and place it in my sd card, and then into my wii. Is there any special folder I have to put the file? Also I was confused on step 6b when you said " Load IOS249, SD Slot and NAND Emulation: Disabled". I could only choose to do one of these. Is this step vital to finding the hacks.ini?

    Hi Guys ,

In step 3 and on where we begin to "Restoring The Bug Into IOS36" for those that cannot use Wi-fi 'to 'Download from NUS' and have to 'Load iOS from SD Card' are all of these files available when we load the SD card in step 1 with the initial files / folders list. ( or we have to find these ios before proceeding with this step )

    X:\apps\
    X:\00000001\
    X:\wad\
    X:\private\
    X:\boot.elf
    X:\IOS38-64-v3610.wad
    X:\IOS36-64-v3351.wad
    X:\IOS15-64-v523.wad
    X:\IOS15-64-v257.wad

They are included in the download. Look at the file structure on your sd card. They will be there.

Completed the guide - it works although i have to say it has been hell of a night. Only issue was that some wads were not loaded to the /wad directory on the SD but on the root. So there were errors messages ( cant find wad ) but seems like the installer checks the root as well as /wad. Maybe I am getting old but prepare some courage and patience before doing this. The result is so worth it though.

Is this SD card supposed to just stay in the Wii all the time ? Seems like only stuff in Homebrew ( was it called that ? ) needs it .

So now with Homebrew and USB Loader are there any best practices , i.e exit from USB Loader to Wii menu before shutting down the console.

Do not remove the SD while in USB loader ?

ShadowSonic2 updated the priiloader to v0.6.
so now he has to update the hacks.ini file to hack_hash.ini or downgrade the priiloader version.
    plz somenone inform him
(to do it yourself just go here: http://priiloader.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/priiloader/hacks_hash.ini and save the page as text document.then place the saved file to your sd and you are ready to go as the guide says)

    Question Crashing when exiting games

Using this guide, I have soft modded my 4.2u, and am currently using a Seagate Free Agent GoFlex 1TB, split in 3 1 is formatted WBFS, 1 is FAT32, and the last is reg windows. When we quit a game the Wii freezes, even in Wii fit when you try to end a mini game. Any thoughts?

boot up to USB loader GX

I followed this guide and now my Wii runs the ISO's i created from my game discs - from a USB hard-drive, so thanks for the excellent step-by-step guide. Its so great not needing to mess about with discs anymore.
Now, I would like my Wii to go straight to USB loader GX when I switch it on, and also after I exit a game. Is this possible and how do I do it.

I have tried downloading the USB loader GX r938.dol and renaming it boot.dol but when I put that onto my SD card Priiloader 0.6 won't start and so I cannot use Priiloader to make this happen.

    What am I doing wrong?
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Guys , Really appreciate if you can tell me:

Which version of cIOS250 is this guide suppose to use ? ( I have been installing / uninstalling wads and now don't seem to have any cIOS250 Installed . Is it rev 17 ? , Rev 19 ? etc. )

Is it supported to install any cIOS250 version besides the ones that were installed in this guide ?

    problem w/ deleting stubbed IOSes

i had no problems until i got to step 4 where i have to delete the stubbed IOSes

i am running 4.2U, by the way

when i go to delete IOS222 (or any of the ones i'm supposed to delete for that matter), under the "currently installed" menu, it says "not installed" for any of them, though under "selected version details" it says "version is a STUB!" for each

when i try to press the "-" sign on my wiimote, it wont do anything (presumably because none of them are installed)

i was wondering if i therefore did not need to complete this step (but im pretty sure this isnt the case) to go on; i obviously dont want to brick my wii, so ill probably stop at this point and continue when i have good information about my dilemma

can anyone tell me how to delete these stubs, if none of them are even installed? should i install them and then uninstall them?

I had a go at softmodding my 4.2J Wii last night following this great guide and everything went smoothly until the delete stub section in the tutorial.IOS222 had to be deleted but I accidentally uninstalled IOS 22,I quickly reinstalled it through the NUS D/L and continued the tutorial from there and nothing seems out of place and Wii is running smoothly. In the final stage of setting up the priiloader I reboot holding the reset button to get into the system hacks menu but get "cant find hash_hacks.ini file on fat drive".Just wondering have I put the kiss of death on this through the IOS mess up??
Havent prepped an HDD yet so not sure if its going to work. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
