to make a long story short I had my wii hacked re-formatted when I had to update my ea nfl training camp gain and I am now trying to do this again but when I load the wad manager after it loads a doesn't work and the controls shut off I saw this happen some where else but couldn't find it again and I apologize for the lack of punctuation.

    Newb steps

To help learn what I've actually done through following the tutorial, and to provide clearer info when I ask for help, I'm trying to keep a log of exactly what state my Wii is at as I go along. Reading back through the tutorial now there's a few steps I'm unclear if I used a ___ installer, or installed ___. These are the steps I have written up so far following ONLY this tutorial, and stopping before the Extra Stuff section:

Wii: 4.2U (probably had an earlier version installed on purchase as I remember updating it a year or two ago)
SD Card: 1GB formatted with FAT (not 32)

    BootMii - installed as IOS
    Homebrew - installed
    IOS15 - downgraded
    IOS36 - patched
    IOS15 - restored
    IOS 222 stub - uninstalled
    IOS 223 stub - uninstalled
    IOS 249 stub - uninstalled
    IOS 250 stub - uninstalled
    cIOS38-rev17 - installed?
    IOS36 - installed?
    cIOS249 - installed
    IOS53 - installed
    IOS55 - installed
    IOS60 - patched
    Priiloader v0.4 (rev78) - installed
    USB Loader GX installed

Could i have some help :/

    Hi sorry about this..

I just read the whole thing and read most the comments.

I started with the guide and done everything it said.

But when i get to Iso249 it wont load. it just unsyncs. So i ignore it and i made a game disk from usenet to try. the disk wont read at all. even tho i burned the iso onto disk.

I then try click on USB loader GX and i get a blank screen then i get some sort of error

Exception (DSI) occured and loads of numbers with Stack Dump, Code Dump. And it freezes.

Could anyone please give some help? Ive read loads of different things, searched online and all sorts cannot find the solution. I did everything in the guide that i was meant to im pretty sure. I have a 4.2e wii.

    Thanks in advance

    Network timeout error NUS?

    New black wii 4.2u

Followed the instructions and i'm stuck at step 3b

Error says "failed to restore ios36 to v3551" along with some network errors -6

Some discrepancies in the guide and what i saw.

"select 'Install An iOS w/ fakesign' by pressing down on the d-pad then A on the wiimote"

it didn't say "install an ios w/ fakesign" but said "install ios36 w/fakesign"

Didn't ask to downgrade ios15, did it automatically

it did ask me to download something, i forget what, from NUS and was sucessful

it also only asked for two of the four"

Install IOS to slot (36) - didn't ask
    Hash Check (trucha) didn't ask
    ES_Identify - asked said yes
NAND Permissions - asked said yes

which then brings me to the error i mentioned above. wiiconnect 24 is off and the network is fine. Any assistance would be greatly apprectiated.

Just purchased a new DVD drive for my Wii and replaced the old drive that was shot, verified that Gamecube backups are indeed working along with everything else.

    Again thanks for the guide.

I didn't have the error you experienced on your Softmodding, but I recently followed the guide too and I clearly remember much of what I was seeing on my screen was subtlely or very different to the guide. I think it's just a matter of the guide being written for an older version of the software.

    • it didn't say "install an ios w/ fakesign" but said "install ios36 w/fakesign" - I had the same message, and kept going
    • Didn't ask to downgrade ios15, did it automatically - Same as me
    • it did ask me to download something, i forget what, from NUS and was sucessful - Same as me
    • it also only asked for two of the four - I don't remember exacty what it asked me for, but I do remember it was short of what the guide said it would ask for.
As I say though, I didn't get the error. But on A few hundred pages ago on this thread this guy had the same problem. He suggested the server was down, made a second post again guessing the server was down, then a little while later had apparently passed that step and was asking for help on something else. So my guess would be that as you said your Wii is connected to the network just fine, then maybe the server is down and to try again later.
