Seeing as you're from the states as I am, would you care to restate in plain, unbroken English as far as your question?

    Exactly, WTH?

Unfortunately, Americans are pretty lazy when it comes to typing. I have noticed that most people who aren't native English speakers tend to make more sense than us, because (1) they make an effort and (2) they use at least SOME punctuation. Really, it's just embarrassing. If you are that bad at spelling, you should at least install a spell checker.

I'm not perfect at grammar and spelling, but I try to make my posts as clear as possible. For example, when people read this post, I am pretty sure they will understand that I am calling most Americans lazy.

I was born in the USA, but I grew up in Guatemala (my parents were missionaries). Maybe that is why my posts are coherent.

    Please help

I have followed every instruction up to step 6b. As I searched for the wad manager it states no description but I was able to tell that the app was indeed the wad manager.

As I moved forward to load ios249 from sd slot it freezes up on me. If i continue to ios70patched.wad it attempts install then shows an error.... installing ticket...ERROR! (ret = -2011)

I have not yet proceeded to step seven for I do not know if this step has been completed.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to correct this issue

    Respectfully
    Stefano

    a) Load WAD Manager from Homebrew Channel, navigate into the wad folder and highlight either USB_Loader_GX_r938.wad or Neogamma_R9_beta26.wad. (Neogamma for Disc loading and USB Loader for USB HDD loading.)
I got everything working up to this step. When i load WAD Manager the only thing that pops up are "select ios version to use". If anyone can help me out on this it would really be appreciated. Thank everyone involved for the guide and preemptive thanks to anyone who can help me.

    Ca Thanks worked great!

The most comprehensive process I've see yet and with the files need organized in a handy rar. Thank you, it is rare to find such a good resource (given how many other mod tutorials I've tried), much appreciated, Cheers!

I joined yesterday. Read like hell and went through alot of tutorials that hung or did not work. THIS ONE got it going with no problems. Cuddos. I did get mine last christmas 11-2009 with 4.2U after the thing required an update and I did not know anybetter. My unit was online with Homebrew and all the stuff on this tutorial loaded without errors. Unlike one of the others that wanted some IOS's used that did not exist at all and 5 of the 8 wads would not load, and the only direction given me was just keep redoing it...well that did not work... I am referring to post from Cile dated 10-14-2010. I was thinking newer tutorial might work better. Not for me. So shadowsonic (ironically our new cats name is Shadow) thanks a hole bunch.

bootmii - can only be installed as an ios

    Hey all

Many thanks for writing the tutorial. I've spent a lot of time tonight finding a tutorial that looks trustworthy and up-to-date before attempting my first Softmod, and this was the one I ultimately selected.

I have a regular white Wii running 4.2U. At step 1 part b the tutorial says:
    b. The Hackmii Installer should now run. Make sure to install Homebrew Channel and Bootmii as an IOS and/or boot2. Always install it as boot2 if your wii can.
At the HackMii installer my Wii is displaying:
The Homebrew Channel: Can be Installed
    DVDX: Can be Installed
BootMii: Can Only be installed as an IOS

    > Continue
I'm apprehensive about continuing given that the tutorial states that BootMii must be installed "as an IOS and/or boot2".

    What are your suggestions?

On on step 3a. I'm at a screen that says "Current IOS is not 36. Loading IOS36...". I've been on this screen for over 1/2 hour. Any advice on if this is normal and if not, how to get past this?

i'm working with a 4.2u. Homebrew installed and bootmii as ios.
