I strongly recommend that you re-address this problem. We see a lot of people come here asking for help with a brick that could be easily fixed if they had priiloader and for some reason or another they failed to have it. The chose is yours.

One question I have. In extra stuff, there is Internet channel Download link. How do I install? Do I put the Internet Wad file in the WAD folder(in SD card) and install from wad manager? Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick reply. I read your reply and went back to see if I was missing something in the step 7C and I was. For two or three times, I was selecting system menu and it did nothing. I thought system menu hacks would be in system menu for which I was wrong. It is the fourth choice "System Menu Hacks" and I enabled both "disable system update" and "disable disk update". Thanks a lot. I didn't want to have it asking me every time to update the system menu. Also, my child by mistake could update and brick the wii. You saved me from big trouble. This really worked without any problem at all. I guess the best part was to have wi-fi connection so it worked everything by itself. One comment for others though. USB Loader GX r938 in the file didn't work for me but I had read in this thread that r921 worked so I uninstalled r938 and reinstalled with r921 and it is working perfect. Great Tutorial.

If you can connect your Wii with internet, then this guide is much easier to understand and follow. I was prepared to follow the one by messie but then I found this and it worked very well. If you can't connect your Wii with Internet, then I would suggest you to follow the one by messie. This one works better if you have your Wii connected with Internet. However, this tutorial provides all the files necessary for offline softmoding. Good luck.

Thanks very much for the reply, i initially disabled the internet on wii for safety reasons but might reenable it and use this method.

Does it constantly require internet connection to remain functional?

    cheers

Turn connect24 off in your internet settings and be sure to say no to the update it will ask you to do. Be sure to install priloader to block disc and online updates and you'll be fine. Again: do NOT accept any online updates...ever

I didn't turn connect24 off as I didn't know what that was but i did block disk update and online updates (step 7) which probably is very important. After reading so many comments about not doing any update, I was sure not to update online. I have a message saying that I have update(which is 4.3). I don't know how to delete message after reading it though. I am assuming after staying there for a few days, it will be removed by itself.

Once you have softmodded, you can go disable Internet connection.

    Thanks so much wil do!

I'm up to backing up the NAND and it only has 1 bad block (up to 80 fine as you'de know ) so im happy with that.

Had a bit of trouble learning to navigate with the on off buttons, kept restarting haha.

This is so much fun and very interesting, thanks!
