After pretty well cruising through steps 1-4, and hiccuping on 5, I am stuck on 6.
Am I correct so far in going to DOP-Mii, pressing A while highlighting "IOS:36", A on "IOS, BC, MIOS", switching the IOS title to IOS53 and pressing +?
When I hit +, it asks if I want to install IOS53 and I hit Yes. It then says "Apply FakeSign (Trucha) patch to IOS53?"... Am I right in picking No here? Do I keep hitting no until I see "Sig Hash Check"?

Yes press + to install...say YES to Fakesign (Trucha) and no to the other patches. (This is how the guide has you install it) Then do the same for IOS55. If you are doing the offline install you will need those wads on your SD card. (Or you can do the Wad Install that the guide outlines in Red letters)

I was trying the wifi method to no avail. I'll try the offline one in red, which I wanted to do in the first place... but I don't have this "WAD Manager" that is mentioned on my Homebrew Channel like it implies. Is it something I have to download on top of the original pack I downloaded? If so, where do I get it? Thanks

It should be there. If not , search , Download and extract to your Apps folder.

On the second page of apps on HC, I have a button without an icon that says "/apps/WAD-Manager_v1.5/boot.dol"... No title or anything. Is that right? I'll feel dumb if it is haha
Again, thanks for all the help, I'll be off your case soon :P

Final question I hope. I'm near certain but just want to be safe... In order to do step 8, do I continue to use IOS249 in WAD Manager to install USB_Loader_GX_r929?

Yes. Always use IOS249 or 250 when installing Wads. (Unless for some reason you need to use IOS36, but you won't need to because you have almost completed the guide so you have a cIOS)
(On another note...If you didn't make a NAND backup I suggest going back and doing that when you are all done the guide)

Done! Thanks a bunch. Now, does my SD card have to remain in the Wii all the time or is it now optional with everything installed?
