I see that this tutorial was updated since i was using it last night but I was on step #6 of that process but every time i did step (B) using IOS249 my wii froze up and didn't want to respond anymore, so I loaded IOS70patched.wad using IOS36. I'm going to continue with the tutorial and hopefully everything works fine if not I'll go thru the forum again. Has anyone else had this problem?

Step 6 - Install and Patch A Few More IOS

    a) Load up homebrew, then load up DOP-Mii. Load IOS36 or IOS249, browse for the IOS, Navigate to IOS53, press A to install and say yes for Sig Hash Check (Trucha Bug). Do the same for IOS55. Next press home to return to homebrew channel.

    b) Load up homebrew channel once more, then load up WAD Manager. Load IOS249, SD Slot and NAND Emulation: Disabled, navigate to the wad folder, highlight IOS60patched.wad and press A. Make sure action is set to install and Install the wad. After a successful install, Press Home to go back to homebrew channel. Do the same for IOS70patched.wad. Make Sure the action is Set to INSTALL!

If loading iOS249 for installation causes the console to freeze but iOS36 works, it could be something wrong with your iOS249. If that is the case, run Homebrew Channel and load Any Title Deleter. In Any Title Deleter, delete iOS249. Don't delete anything else, it could be dangerous! Once done, exit and do step four again then resume the tutorial.

Also, I'm confused that the tut for softmoding a 4.2 doesn't include the necessary files in the download.
I'm also confused that xbox and psp softmods are all easily carried out using W2K, so why can't W2K be used to softmod a Wii.

    I guess I'm just grumpy.

Your are not soppose to downgrade its there just in case you do something dumb like that so you can be safe...lol
With shadows guide it is too easy to softmod ......and there you go he update the the files from his guide.........

    Thanks ShadowSonic2.

So it's just a case of downloading the updated pack extracting to SD, then starting again from step 3?

Will the tute be updatd soon? I am stuck with the WAD manager freezing and the controller not working. The tute is different to the download, as there is no section to remove studded mods.

If you look inthe giues section yoù'll find a tut for sofdmofdding 3.2 to 4.1 wii. In it it shows you how to update to 4.1. There are also other guides there that will show you how to safely update.
If you found this helpful please click the Thanks button.

I am stuck on the DOP-Mii section of it. It starts to install IOS36 and completes the first time. Then when it tries to downgrade to(from) IOS15, it gets an error. I really want this to work. What am I doing wrong? I do not have a SD card more than 550mb so I can't backup. :/ That means if I brick it, I'm screwed.

I JUST want to run Neogamma and backups. That's it. Help?
