I then have to get out my GC controller and boot into the System Menu from there. I tried to set Autoboot in the priiloader settings to "System Menu" but it still goes to BootMii first. Can I bypass BootMii some how and go straight to the System Menu? Thanks in advance.
It probably is because the bootmii folder is still on your sd card. Insert your sd card into your PC and move the bootmii folder from your sd card to a safe place onto your pc.

It seems i've now run into an issue.

Finished putting the hacks.ini at the root of the SD card.

Now trying to install priiloader and it freezes as soon as i launch it. Tried both 0.2 and 0.3 and i get the same result. I've completed all steps in the tutorial up to this point without any problems.

Alright so basically I'm retarded and could use some help. BG Info: My wii is modded already and I am in the process of modding my parent's 4.2 version wii and I messed up somewhere and I'll retrace my steps. On my first installation on a 4.0 wii I managed to mod my wii just fine and then my friend's wii, but this is my first attempt at 4.2 so here we go.

I was modding my parents wii on step 2 and instead of hitting down on the dpad I hit A and I found a IOS menu thing so I thought that is what was meant in the directions, but of course I was wrong. While I was there I tried to follow the directions and load IOS 36 and hoped afterward it would give me the option to Downgrade to IOS15, but it didn't. The screen did something weird and all the letters were slurred across the screen and froze so I restarted the wii by holding the power button and I realized my mistake so I tried to do it the right way and the wii did the same thing as before while I was downgrading IOS 36 to IOS 15( the screen slurred or w/e). Any suggestions on what to do from here? I would really just like to undo whatever it is I did and start from scratch. And no the Wii isn't bricked.

For reference here is step two:"

Step 2 - Restoring The Bug Into IOS36

    a) Load and Homebrew Channel and run DOP-IOS MOD, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad then A on the wiimote. You should now be in the trucha bug restorer portion of DOP-IOS MOD. Load IOS36 and select Downgrade IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Download From NUS'
Make sure you get no errors. If Loading IOS36 doesn't work for this step, press B for no IOS reload when asked to load IOS.

    b) Run DOP-IOS MOD again, on the IOS Selection Screen, press down on the d-pad and press A. Load IOS15 and choose IOS36 Menu. Make sure to install the patched IOS36 with all these patches selected:
    Install IOS to slot (36)
    Hash Check (trucha) Yes
    ES_Identify Yes
    NAND Permissions Yes

Then Press A on Install Patched IOS36. Again, everytime it asks, choose 'Download from NUS'

    c) Re-run DOP-IOS MOD one more time, on the IOS Selection screen, press down on the d-pad and then A on the wiimote. Press B for 'No IOS Reload' and select Restore IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Download from NUS'

Once done, return to homebrew channel and continue the tutorial

    Worked great 4.2u SD question

This worked great for my 4.2u
I'm wanting to change the apps on homebrew. Do I have to keep any of this stuff on my sd card now that the mod is finished?

I just bought a Wii (the black limited version, region Europe (Belgium).

Will this guide works for my new black Wii??

Since i have read something about the black Wii can't be softmodded.

    Sorry for my bad English.

Any Wii can be modded. Use this guide for your black Wii.
You won't be able to use backup DVD's, only USB loader.

Have you installed IOS70, have you got the right hacks.ini file for your system.

I would recommend either. Both are good, read through them several times, make sure you know what you are doing and you'll be fine.

I'll read both and look for the one that's best explicated.

    Thanks in advance.
