Do I need to load the homebrew channel before I go on to Part B of the Guide, or is it just a easy way to get apps on my Wii? Pretty much all I'm looking for is to be able to play US backup games and I think that's what parts B and C do.

Heres a quick question. Does anyone have a direct link to a patched version of the 4.2U firmware? I want to install the new system menu instead of just 4.1 from dogeggs guide.

Thanks messie I'll just use the 4.1 system menu then. But will that disable my use of the shop channel? I did see an update for the 4.2 shop channel, but don't I need 4.2 system menu for that? Or can I just install the 4.2 shop channel and be on 4.1 system menu?

Stupid isn't the word...more like technologically inept. I think the guide is great. Part B just isn't working for me. For some reason, bootmii (the boot2 thing) doesn't load up when either I put the SD card in or when I try and load it by hitting the home button in the Homebrew channel.

Technology is my "the other" because I know I'll never understand it but I'll always use it.

Anyway, I'm fiddling around with it, with hopes I don't brick my Wii.

did that like 6 times with each version of part B, same result: Wii stays on, disc slot flashes, screen is black.

This time I didn't load bootmii under both Boot2 and ISO, but when I go to the Homebrew channel and hit home, it doesn't even have a section to try and load bootmii. Hmmm...

EDIT: Do I want to update to HB CH version 1.0.6
