Run the hackmii installer again and choose Prepare SD Card under the bootmii section. Next make a new NAND backup (unless you have your old one on your PC). Finally, redownload any apps that you want into "SD:\apps\" and run them from the HBC like before.

Please, is it possible to follow this guide while the wii is offline? How would I do that? I don't have internet access to do it the way the guide currently is, but I do already have bootmii, the homebrew channel, gecko and neogamma installed, but just no new cioses or IOSes apart from what came with the wii. I have a 4.2e wii. Much thanks in advance.

    This is an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got a Wiikey installed but i want to use a USB HDD to play all my games off plus mario galaxy 2 won't work via disc. I've softmodded a wii a while back and it was very easy but i've been doing this now for over 4 hours!!!
I have Usb loader gx and neogamma installed but neither is working. If i put mario galaxy 2 in on the normal wii screen my wiimote just dies and the game also wont load from neogamma.
Usb loaders also not reading my USB HDD with games on from my old Wii so i have no idea wtf is going on!?!
Do i need new files on the HDD or should they just work the same as they did on my old Wii??! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to Walmart (or any video game store) and buy an official Nintendo 2GB Sandisk card for roughly $10. They have full compatibility with all homebrew apps, including bootmii.
I just bought a 2gb sandisk SD card, and I can't even get my wii to read it. I bought my wii within the first year they came out, and I'm on 4.2u. It keeps on saying "The device you have inserted in the SD Card Slot can't be used. I downloaded the rar file, and unzipped it into the SD card, and it is formated Fat32, and I tried Fat as well.

Did you buy a Nintendo one? I have never heard of that happening with a compatible SD card. Are you sure you disabled Quick Format?

Ok, So I've used this guide for a friends 4.2U Wii, and all went fine. I got another friends wii today and it has the same SM, but I was looking at the guide I used for my 4.3U from MauiFrog's "Softmod Any Wii" thread, and there is one difference I see that I'm not sure about.

Part B: The extermination of the evil stub ios249.

I see that in this guide, but not in the other guide for all SM's. So just wondering if there has been a change since the creation of this guide VS the other? Does the other guide do this step (I couldn't see it in there), or is it not needed anymore or something? Cause this guide was made in late 2009, and MauiFrog's was created in the summer of 2010....so like 9 months later. Anyone shed some light on the subject, or am I just a noob and shouldn't worry about it?
