    Thanks guys..

it turned out that for some reason my GC memory card and controller was messing it up.. all I had to do is remove those and run the program...

    Now that it's working...
Can I plug in more than one HD via USB? would that work?
    how about a hub?

    Thanks

Unless my memory is faulty, I thought this guide specifically instructs you to remove any and all GC stuff like this? No, your Wii will only work with one HD. A USB hub (preferably a powered hub) can power USB instruments and maybe a keyboard if I recall correctly, but that's about it.

    AH HA!!!!
THIS GUIDE does not say anything like that!
Please update the guide hehe :P feel good contributing a bit.. I am sure this saves a lot of people some headache!!!

I actually read it from another softmod site after googling on Herme's and how to install it and that removing GC things are necessary.

Apparently he neglected to include that (all our other guides do to my knowledge). Oh well... to be honest, we usually refer folks to mauifrog's ANY Wii nowadays as it's a little more updated. This guide is perfectly valid as-is, but you'll need to update your cIOS and Homebrew Channel to maximize the Wii's ability. Junkmail has a "update your old softmod" guide in the Recommended Guides section, may want to eyeball that.

(i am asking this again....because i can see only the 1st n last page of this thread...some problems i dont know why....and it was answere previously by krank...but now i cant view it)
i think i missed it ....sorry for asking again
to only update cios 38 r14 to r17(i have sofmodded using this guide)
i should launch cios 38r17 installer....and then choose "ios 250" to install instead of "donot reload ios"(as stated in this guide"
am i right with this one...

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-softmod.html
step 2 of this guide says that to update cios 38 to 17....i should use ios 249 instead of 250

EDIT:also can some one redirect me to a guide to load .wbfs files directly from an ntfs partition(without wbfs formatting)

We dont have a ntfs guide but we do have a fat32 guide.

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...g-playing.html

The 38 is the base ios that rev 17 uses. Just select 250 when installing still.
