ummmmm dont look good I guess doctor what symptoms do I have?
I don't know what has happened to cause this, but if you look at your syscheck you will see that you have no trucha patched ios. It is not that you don't have the trucha patch because many of those ios we know have it, but the syscheck is unable to see. This is one of the symptoms of the ret- 1024 error. With this error people have been unable to install anything to the nand. They have been able to uninstall anything they like, but it never installs again, so don't uninstall anything or you'll be screwed.

I see you do not have bootmii ios installed, do you have it installed as boot2? Do you still have HBC installed? Try to run the hackmii installer and install bootmii as an ios- it will probably give you an erro 1024 or perhaps 1012.

If you could detail the history of your wii, it may help. Everything was working when you did the guide and installed cios- when did things go south?

Also you should try runing syscheck instead of sighcheck, it may give better results. CB2_BB_SysCheck_1.6.1.zip If you have bootmii, try to install a wad using the cboot2 wadmanager- load from bootmii (use no ios reload)

OK, I ran syscheck through banner-bomb like your guide said How to fix "no vulnerable ios" error when installing HBC
One thing I failed to mention was that, when installing bootmii, it was done as an ios not boot/2

    Thank you

Thanks for the extensive guide. Were it not for you, I'd still be looking the whole web for a decent guide. This one covers it all, and works flawlessly.

Just finished softmodding two Wii's. The first one took me a whole day tinkering and figuring thins out, the second one took me less than twenty minutes. This all was well worth it.

    Cheers!

Question, i followed the guide, step by step. I had to remove the f..king empty ios249.. so i completed all the steps.

i have a wii, that originally come wi the 4.1u firmware, and i updated it to 4.2u.

now the question, i just instaled the 3 components, HBC, DVDX, and the other one..

After that i just tried, neogamma, and work fine, but always came with the 1048 error, for example, wag manager didnt work, until i followed this guide, and using the new ios249, so the question is if wag manager works, and neogamma opens fine, that means that a followed the guide fine? and the error when tried to read backup dvd's is just for the lens? i mean the one d3-2?

    VERY NOOB here, so learning..

Not sure if its the chipset or not but the error points that way, put your serial number in here Wii Drive Chip Database and see what the result is

Was wondering if this guide could be used for a wii that has had no mods done to it prior and may have been updated to 4.2 over time, older wii here?

Of course. My two Wii's were on 4.2E. So, the new ones can be modded (even if they haven't been modded before), and the older ones can simply be updated and then be modded (if they haven't been modded before).

If your wii is not on 4.2 leave it that way and use this guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

i tried to do this tutorial after i failed with the 3.1 - 4.1 tutorial [could not get to the screen to boot up homebrew or bootmii] . i went and updated my wii through nintendo to 4.2u hoping that it would fix any problems my system had.when i tried to follow this tutorial i got stuck at the same point of this install, part A2
{Run to your wii, place the card in the SD slot and navigate to the SD card icon, bottom left, writes SD and has the same shape, can't really miss it. Once you did this, a warning screen about scams should appear, press ok, screen will go black. A disclaimer shall appear, press one to continue} the disclaimer does not appear
im not too sure what to do now. there is no gamecube parts connected to my wii , im using a sasndisk 2gb card , there is no game in my wii , i have only one wireless controller connected to my wii , my sd card is formatted to fat32 . i dont know what else to do?
i can boot up trucha bug and dop-mii using these files by changing just the .dol files

    I FIXED MY WII...

in case someone else has the same problems i had, what you need to do is download the files at the beginning of this tutorial and replace the boot.elf file with the boot.dol file from trucha bug restorer.
when trucha bug restorer boots up follow this guide ARSC - How to softmod a 4.2 Wii
after completing that , delete all files in your sd card and reinstall the files from the begining of this tutorial. your sd card should boot right up
