I just wanted to THANK YOU! this guide is AMAZING! all i needed to do is get a proper SD card of about 2GB (NOT an MMC card or even the micro/mini SD adapters because i had problems with those)!
The only bit i did not to is part D6 because i couldn't find that file buts its okay because that part was VERY optional, anyways everything else works perfectly!
A word of advice to everybody : INSTALL HOMEBREW BROWSER its amazing!

    THANK YOU MAN!!!!!!!!!

I rather use this guide then the other one for 4.2. ,are we not suppose to use this one anymore?, and where do you get the files to put on the root of the SD card before you start for this tutorial, I don't see a link to download them in this tutorial anymore.

    Thanks

I used this guide too because I had problems with the other guide too, yet this one worked for me =]
This guide is just fine, its just an alternative. No problems

The files you need are the words "GET THIS" Its a link
This is the same link for you from the front page. Use the pass: www.wiihacks.com to download

Hack pack 4.2 sys menu 16012010.rar

Any other problems along the way just ask

    Us

Just now placed an order for a new Wii from Walmart...
Hope to softmod it as soon as I receive it...lol
BTW, once I do this as per the current guide, would I be able to play PAL games or will it just play NTSC games which we download from "usual places"

If the modding fails or if it gets bricked, it's anyway going home i.e. back to Walmart...

Modern loaders have options like FORCEPAL, FORCENTSC to cope with out of region Wii games; for the most part this works, but I think not 100% of all games. BTW: if a new Wii, likely you'll have to opt for USB HD gaming, as likely you'll get a D3-2 drive.

    Thanks a lot nightstah.
I think for starters I will stick to NTSC games...LOL
So, unless you feel this is a too stupid Q and decide to ignore, may I ask what is D3-2 drive?
I placed an order for Wii Console w/ Bonus Wii Sports Resort & Wii MotionPlus Bundle so just to confirm once, can I use the current guide? Any quick tips (like use only USB technique, the preferred exploit or something like that)?

Dude, google it... in short an unmoddable DVD drive (not the drive itself, but the PCB/Logic board attached to it). Softmod, try the disc channel; if no work'em, USB HD gaming will be the way to go.
