Hi, I would just like to post and say at the finishing of the "D part" with NeoGamma for some reason it would no boot my DVD-R (playing Tales of Graces on a Memorex DVD) in the homebrew channel option. However when I went to wadmanager and made neogamma a channel of its own it suddenly started working, so maybe some people before saying it won't work with the "error 1408/ no dvd (n) / black screen" should also do this and it could possibly fix the problem for you too :3

Also thanks a lot for this guide, I'm a total noob at this and I was able to successfully do most of this totally on my own. YOU'RE AMAZING < 3

    Hi Everyone,

This is my second post. First of all, great thread and write up!

My quick question is that I've noticed two tutorials for softmodding a 4.2 wii system. This one looks more comprehensive while the other seems more authoritative (and this one references to that one). The problem is, there are slight differences and I obviously don't want to brick my wii. Do both methods work well or is there an advantage to using one over the other?

I have lots of time as I'm waiting for my sandisk 2GB SD card. My wife ordered one but mistakenly ordered a mini version of it (no bigger than my pinky finger nail!) so we will order the full deal.

Any input is highly appreciated. ^^

Props to you all for helping out those like me!

    Gisa ^^

You can use either guide. And neither one will brick you, just make sure you've read it thoroughly and follow the instructions it gives.

Edit: I just noticed your location. Many people are tempted to change their region on korean consoles. If you're already on 4.2 do not do this, you'll brick your wii irreparably. If your console isn't on 4.2 yet, don't update it and instead use the 3.1-4.1 softmod guide.

Thanks! I have read it over a bit...little bit scared but from what I've read, it sounds like it'll work if I follow the instructions to the T. ^^

I'll reread it a few more times just to be safe.
