Does anyone know if there is a way to play nintendo DS/DSWARE on your wii. If so, can someone point me in the the right direction to find the tutorial

well, this truly got me really far. I followed A , B and C and everything worked. my only problem is now that the wii is really slow, everything is orange and the pixels at the top are flickering all the time.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I tried 249 and 250, but they hang immediately after pressing A. I don't even get any error messages. With IOS36 I feel like I'm at least getting somewhere.... even if there are errors.

    Any suggestions?

Mine gave me the same error you're having when I tried using IOS 249.....using IOS250 is what made it work for me.

So all in all the steps should be:

    Wad manager starts>
    Select IOS250 to use
    Select SD Card
Choose IOS249 from wad folder and make sure it's set to uninstall and you should be good to go. Like messie says, if 250 doesn't work, try 36, and so on.

Tried ShadowSonics' Softmod for ANY 4.2 wii! guide but got stuck on Step2b (see my problem here (post #987) ). So I thought I'd give Messie's guide a try...

I'm can't uninstall IOS249.... I get stuck on step B8 and the following is displayed onscreen:

    Code:
[+] Opening "IOS249.WAD", please wait... OK!

    [+] Uninstalling WAD, please wait...
           >> Deleting tickets... ERROR! (ret = -1017
           >> Deleting title contents... ERROR! (ret = -1017)
           >> Deleting title... ERROR! (ret = -1017)

    Press any button to continue...

Normal games start just fine with neogamma r8.

Could this be caused because i couldnt do this part:
By "normal games" I assume you mean legit game discs and not burned backups?

As for your question...I was under the impression that the things you didn't install were primarily for the USB loader and function, but hey...couldn't hurt to try that because I'm not sure why you no longer get the error but get a green screen and restart. It seems I've heard other people talk about that issue but unfortunately, I don't remember seeing a fix for it. (Mainly because I wasn't looking for it since it didn't effect me, not that there wasn't one to be found)

@Tango_ninja - Hmmmmm, have you tried any other IOS's? I don't have a suggestion for which one to try unfortunately, but maybe 38 or 222 or something. Mine only hung after trying 249 so that sucks that yours is doing it on 250 as well. Have you tried the other 2 packs that Messie suggests as well? Also have you looked at this thread for people who can't past step B.

Did you check the compatibility of your drive?

USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp

some hard drives will do what is called "Spin down"

You may have noticed that if you watch a show off your external hard drive for example....pause the show, or stop it for a while...come back, hit play, and it takes a second before the video kicks in because the hard drive has to spin back up and find where it was.

Depending on the drive you have, that may be your issue. Also, again depending on the drive, I believe there are various tools out there, usually from the manufacturer, that can let you change that so it doesn't do that.

I'm not saying that's guaranteed the issue, but that would be my guess.
