I have tried to follow this guide, but I'm stuck at step B3-B4.
I haven't skipped any steps, and have formatted the SD card when the guide told me to.

I managed to install homebrew channel, dvd, and bootmii as boot2.
But in B, I have to put the new files on the SD-card and then go to the HBC, click the home button, and there should appear an option with bootmii, correct? This doesn't happen for me.
It's not that the option doesn't work, it's that it doesn't show up, any idea what I'm doing wrong? I tried all 3 packs, all the same.

I did notice that if I leave the SD-card in the wii, and reset it, it starts up at the Wadmanager, but I don't want to skip a step (can I?).

so what options DO come up when you hit the home button on the wiimote at the HBC screen?

and no, you shouldn't skip a step, things won't work in the end....mainly the USB loader and neogamma which is primarily the point of all this.

    navigate bootmii without Gamecube controller

Dunno if anyone posted this already but here goes anyway. If you install Bootmii as an IOS which most have to, and you don't have a Gamecube controller, you can navigate the bootmii menu and make a NAND backup by using the buttons on your Wii - or you can on the wii I was using just now. The power button changes the selected option and the button next to it on the right selects. Sorry if this is old news but who can read 500+ pages of posts in a thread?

you really don't need to post 3 useless comments one right after another within 10 minutes...........

The answer to your only legitimate posts question is right on the very first page of this thread...it's within the first 5 lines or so of the guide.

    That's why there's a "Search Thread" function.

Thumbs up Thanks for an excellent guide!

I'm a noob to Wii-modding. After reading through and digesting most of the guides on this fantastic site I finally had the guts to mod my brand new Wii Black Edition 4.2E. It worked flawlessly, thanks to this excellent guide!

I fixed it myself, or rather, I risked just doing it by restarting like I mentioned, and it all worked out perfectly
happily playing my backup from my USB-stick, and priiloader installed for safety.

Sorry I forgot to update here, I was very focused on getting it to work '^^

If you are still on 4.1 stay on it. Use the guide for 4.1.
