Thank you very much! IT WORKS!
In fact I did part A following Homebrew setup - WiiBrew
Then I found this post and followed until step D4.
Memory cards experience:
I had problems with SDHC Patriot Class 6 (4GB).
SDHC Transcend Class 6 (16GB) and SD Kingston (2GB) both worked fine.
System Menu 4.2u
Serial starts with: LU1176xxxxx

USB Flash Drive
Can a USB flash drive be used for this mod instead of an SD card?

probably major fail in installing ios249 or reinstall it using cios38rev14. Make ios222 the default ios in settings
dreamkazt: you have to instll it if you want the hacks applied in your system . if you think you dont need them, don't install it. but riiloader can do a couple more things, so whatever you want

Hi all, this is my first post.
Thank you Messie for your detailed tutorial.
I am trying to read up as much as I can about this, before doing it, for obvious reasons.
My question is about updating the hacks, after I do them. Is there any benefit to it?
I noticed you updated priiloader to 0.3 the other day, but the other apps are older versions. For example, Shadowsonic's tut has wad manager 1.5, you have 1.4. USB loader GX has now reached v. 899.
The HBC also has been updated, and apparently it asks for an autoupdate when you install it.
So, my questions:
1) Any particular reason you have not updated the versions of the apps in the hack bundle? Is there no reason to do so? Don't the new versions offer more/correct bugs?
2) I want to continue to use wiiconnect24 after the hack, if I use priiloader to block system updates I still can have the functionality that I have now, right?
3) Is it safe to update the HBC if it asks me to? Can anything break if I accept?
4) If I install cios38rev14 to ios250, without removing the 249 stub, like it says in the ">>" part of the guide, and don't do B and C, when I do D to install more ios's with cios222 or wadmanager, will I have to choose ios250 instead of ios249 that the guide says? If I do that, will USB loader/neogamma work, or will it be looking for stuff on 249?
I have a black wii, v. 4.2E.

Priiloader Block Online Updates but still error 61312
I used this great guide. Bootmii was installed as IOS so I also installed and used Priiloader v0.30 as a brick protection
From Priiloader menu:
block online updates > enabled
When I connect my Wii to the internet after testing the connection I get a message saying the test was succesfull and if I want to update my wii-systemsoftware (wii servicecode 61312) > I choose NO
I searched and already tried do disconnect WiiConnect 24.
(it asked if i agree to the terms or something like that > NO
no simple switch on / off or connect / disconnect feature found within the wii config menu)
Is the online update realy blocked ?
